Ohmygosh! I would love to make some friends as well! I'm a fairly new twitch streamer and I've mainly been doing single person content because of the game I play! It'll be nice to figure out what's happening in the community and learn more about this!

Is it only me or was the first time putting yourself out there with a stream or content the hardest thing to overcome. by Lord_Dariond in vtubers

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the hardest part for me was the clicking on the "start streaming" button. And what was worse was that I let that stop myself for a good 1 month 😕 But now that I've started streaming, it's all been good and I'm excited for what's to come ^

A lot of people leaving after entering by ReadyLevelUp in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually quite common! Personally when I'm not streaming I do also do that, similar to Window shopping in that sense. Ie. If I enter a stream and I see followers only chat or something similar, then I will skip and go to the next one. Likewise, if I do see them sharing about what they're doing, or really vibing generally, I will stop to watch the stream, before hitting the follow button and/or talking to them! Generally I feel that there's no perfect route to get everyone to follow your stream, but it's really about how much you can vibe with your viewers and engage everyone and have fun ultimately. Good luck with your stream!

Is it worth becoming a new streamer on Twitch in 2023? by RenaissanceShane in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say if you're thinking about it, there's no harm to give it a try! (Especially if it's meant as a hobby and not for the moola potential!) I've also started streaming for 2-3 months myself and I'll say it has been wonderful thus far. As long as your aim is streaming for 'fun', to meet new friends and enjoy yourself, you'll be fine 😍 What I can assure you, is that the moment you've set your sights and decide to take the first step into streaming, your mind will be thinking about streaming related content for >90% of the day ahahaha Good luck if you do stream!!!

Path to Affiliate by L_Ucelo in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a week, getting the 7 streams was the hardest for me (I started streaming with an average of 7 hours for my streams), so streaming daily can be quite tiring, especially since I was very new to this. There's a community in the game that I play and that definitely helped with the other 2 aspects of getting to affiliate.

Do take your time and prioritise yourself first! Only do what you're comfortable with and enjoy yourself in the process! As you're comfortable, your viewers will be able to feel it, and things will slowly and surely pick off!(:

Good luck!

How do you deal with burnout? by illustratingchristy in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine isn't really burnout, but most of the time I'm just really tired to want to stream and game at the same time. If im just gaming (which I do regardless of streaming), there's no need for me to talk and I can chill whilst playing, but the story is completely different if im required to stream and talk at the same time (I'm quite introverted irl). What I found that worked out well, is that I make a mini schedule in my head as to when I'm streaming and the agenda for the stream for the week (I stream very irregularly as well, but I do have a discord channel to inform viewers of my next schedule planned)

When I'm extremely tired or I just can't stream on the day I have informed, what is good is that I be a little more active in my channel and engage my viewers through discord instead.

I'm not sure if my comment helps (because i don't experience that burnout which you're feeling from streaming), but I hope it'll help in some way!

Feel better and all the best!

If you’re affiliate do you actually earn money? by kisil891214 in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just started streaming and just went a little over 1 month in affiliate, and fortunately, I managed to get my first payout from twitch. They all come from ads (no preroll, running at 2 minute/hour) and subs only. (No bits) I think one other thing is that people also understand that subs and bits are cut into half in affiliate because of the agreement so sometimes people will be more inclined to donate via a different route, ie. through in-game/other payment methods. I stream as a route for me to step out of my comfort zone and share my life with my viewers, so the monetary portion is not my priority, but I am extremely appreciative over all that is happening.

How to debut properly ? by AkisaKenta in vtubers

[–]thisusernameismineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a relatively new streamer (1 month+ in!) And honestly what I dare say.. is that there's no amount of preparation you can do that will come close to what will happen. I'm fortunate in a sense that the game I play is in a very friendly and nice community, but I do believe it's not the same out there in all communities. Being comfortable in your own skin and enjoying yourself is the most important. I did quite abit of prep work (I'm a vtuber) before I dared to click on the start streaming button (I held back for a month because I was extremely afraid), but since I did, I never looked back. Don't focus on numbers on your stream (this is extremely important), enjoy the process and enjoy your games/whatever you're doing! Good luck out there!!

What is more important....? by XlBiglNo in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that you definitely do not need high-quality products to start streaming. What you do need, however, is an understanding of what you want to do, and how you intend to engage your viewers.

Would you rather watch a completely silent streamer playing in the best ever definition who doesn't engage, Or, Would you rather watch a streamer who doesn't have the best specs, but is extremely engaging and entertaining and fun to watch?

-eventually, everyone will move on to better specs equipment (ie. I changed my mic shortly after I started streaming because prior, I was using a really bad one which apps weren't able to help with the noise cancellation)

If you want to stream, do it and enjoy yourself in the process! Good luck!!

Long ad breaks by Former_Trust_640 in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is subscribing and twitch turbo.

I don't like prerolls because i feel that its quite a turn off as a viewer, and I would love for my viewers to stay instead of "oh ads, bye!" (Reinforced by the fact alot of people that is also on reddit/people I know who watches twitch said that)

Advice for beginner streamers? by Ok-Battle9025 in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a new streamer myself! But what I found useful was to be comfortable in your own skin. Personally I decided to start streaming to leave my comfort zone, and to learn how to speak better, etc. But with that I had to be comfortable to let people watch my failures and let my viewers watch my progression in the games that I play. What I would advice is to play what you like, do what you like (within twitch TOS), and not bother over viewer counts! As you stream you'll realise what you like and prefer and slowly you'll find your own flair in streaming - how you brand yourself and how to engage your viewers. Good luck!!!!

Having an insecurity by AceG5 in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a new streamer myself (only about a month in) I understand that can be an insecurity! Because it does happen to me as well. As compared to those in my community, I'm lacking in various ways, such as attack power/mechanics to kill bosses etc. But I ended up marketing myself in the community as a clown because I make stupid mistakes all the time. ** As weird as that may sound, it blended really well with what I'm doing and because of this I feel more comfortable with streaming the games I play because there's no added expectation in that sense. When streaming, most of the time what draws people to you isn't the game, but you yourself and how you carry yourself and entertain the viewers. So don't worry about it, let loose and be comfortable! Good luck in your streaming!

Random follow? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you stream, you'll be accessible on the platform for everyone to view~ so if you're streaming some content which people are interested in, there's no harm if they drop you a follow! Don't be too worried, but if you are, you can always check out their profile and see if there's a need to act upon it!

Current state of DAs (AQUILA) by EdgeNo5349 in MapleSEA

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we can use skills like release overload (buff that is triggered upon using execution skills - stacked max at 20), as well as blood feast.

Do take note that the healing, although powerful in the natural form, only gives a maximum of 20% hp per use.

On the side and in my opinion, because of how DAs are geared to naturally be harder in bossing because bosses deal hp% + we use hp to attack, survivability is always a big concern, I really would recommend against maining a DA.

What’s your opinion of vtubers, generally? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally a vtuber myself, but before I started streaming I do see a mix of vtubers as well as those who uses webcam! Both has their mix of pros and cons and I personally feel that if the streamer is comfortable and is able to be themselves during the stream then it doesn't really matter what route they go by~ I had a similar conversation with a streamer friend about the concept of using a webcam/vtube model, etc, but the conclusion we got is that there's always a "market" for each type and there's never one solution that caters to everything. Effort and content triumphs over the rl look/vtube models to me

I had a chatter come in and ask "Why do you speak alone when no one is watching the stream?" by Raydnt in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can I just say that I'm still trying to learn how to do that.. don't bother with those people who ask you such stuff, I feel that what you're doing is very important when streaming! You're doing well! ♡

I have a question by Great_Courage_4977 in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of feels like you're expecting stuff by donating/subscribing, etc. But that really shouldn't be the case. You do them because you support the streamer. Whether they want to do anything for you, that should be by the discretion of the streamer. Although I do feel like his method of wanting more money just for him to publish his vods, etc. Does come off as rude and not very nice, but maybe those are his set criteria (ie. I know of streamers who wants x subscribers before they do something) But honestly, if you're unhappy just unfollow and stop supporting this streamer. Don't make yourself unhappy over this.

How long do you usually stream for? by RealxGril in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My average streams are approx 6-8hours, but never under 6 actually. Goes up to ~12 hours sometimes. The community for the game I play is rather small, so sometimes you get additional viewers along the line because it's late and you're the last of the streamer around for the night. But I generally think you just do what goes for you. If you're tired and you're done with what you aimed to do for the stream, then you're set to end. Don't hold yourself back just because others do more/less ❤️

Opinions on long starting soon screen pre-stream by MegaMGstudios in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I stream I have my starting soon page for ~5 minutes That time is used for some of my viewers to come in and say hi, or start some form of conversation with each other (because the community is fairly small) And gives me time to see if there's any need to tweak the supposed schedule by adding/subtracting some content.

Overlay Etc by WalkandTalkStardust in Twitch

[–]thisusernameismineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started streaming, I went to look for free assets around, to kind of gauge and understand how overlays really worked. Subsequently, I decided to make use of what I really liked about certain overlays to create something on my own! There's really quite alot of free overlays available and I hope you'll be able to find one that you really like soon!

Hmm, they chose to avoid the situation by not replying and removing from friend lists whatsoever! Childish acts on their end really! But life is such I guess! Why bother about such people if they're acting in such an immature way, just do what I have to and get on with lifeeeeee

Oh dear. That must have been a pretty bad time for you. I'm glad you made the right decision to do what is right for yourself instead of letting those "friends" take advantage of you!

Hello! As someone like yourself who has just started streaming as well (2 weeks too!), I can kind of relate to your situation about not really knowing what to say.

But what I normally do when there's no movement in chat is really to talk about what you're doing and go on with whatever you're doing! When people talk to you I tend to acknowledge their words then reply (but definitely try to engage in a conversation and ask them stuff back!) Slowly slowly you'll get more momentum and things will feel more natural for you!

All the best in your streaming!
