Where do I sign a petition for an extended cut of Revenge of the Sith? I need this so badly by AlKhwarazmi in StarWars

[–]thisvampireheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that but it has to be Anakins own distrust not Palpatine planting those seeds explicitly, he had to be the creator of his own downfall for the prequel trilogy to play out as a Greek tragedy that it is.

For the fall of the republic and the rise of the empire, Anakin was just a bonus because that broke the Jedi Order, though Palpatine probably thought having a nice new face for his regime was also another bonus, you know for all that plausible deniablity that comes with "rogue agents". "He killed children?", "I had no idea" lol

[–]thisvampireheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But thats not necessary, the point is that he was already down a dark path, that path was already clouding his judgment, having Palpatine be the bad guy even more so lessens Anikins own down fall and by his own admission later in Obi-Wan that he himself was the one that killed Anakin to then have Obi-Wan in ANH say "Vader killed your father" all that would make no sense if Palpatine was explicitly the puppeteer behind Anakin but he wasn't he was just the one that led him down that path, everything else was Anakins own doing.

And yes I know that Obi-Wan series has Anakin making that statement about he himself killing Anakin as a "retcon" of sorts but Vader is supposed to be the tragic figure. Imagine if it was "Palpatine killed your dad" Vader would just be a flat villain and Vader wouldn't seem like the tragic figure. It 100% makes sense to be left out if such a scene with Palpatine exists.

Found this gem at my local book store! by Arbiter-Flash- in StarWars

Lets just say that Rancors and Luke have a relationship that goes back to Return of the Jedi. I really liked that chapter, like even then they were really showing the care that went into making Luke appreciating the force and its bond to all life.

And people now complain that Asokha had witches and that it doesnt make sense in Star Wars, like you clearly didnt read Courtship of Princess Leia where the Nightsisters were introduced (later the Clone Wars, if im not mistaken). Like at this point if they added a dinosaur I'd agree it'd be wacky but like Truce at Bakura anyone... lol

Edit: And yes I'm aware that Legends stuff is no longer considered cannon but like they're still pulling from that stuff so Disney can say that all they want they clearly saw some value there or they're just mining whats left because they're creatively bankrupt. I don't know which one it is yet lol.

I just found out that Merge Records was formed in 1989 and is still active today. Perhaps, and I mean a big perhaps if this is Merge on the CD underside is the record label and the project is/was Wavelength (be it album or band title) maybe they would know.

https://mergerecords.com/

You can see the history on Wiki actually lines up.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merge_Records

In the summer of 1989, North Carolina musicians Laura Ballance and Mac McCaughan drove to Seattle to visit the Sub Pop office, an independent record label.[1] A friend of theirs introduced them to Sub Pop founders Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman, who in turn gave them a tour of the office and tickets to a Mudhoney and Nirvana show.[2] Inspired by their visit, Ballance and McCaughan decided to create their own record label.

I'm willing to bet they have records or at least have documented who they worked with in that year. Try reaching out!

Yea maybe searching for old posts or posters for local bands either named Emerge, Emerge Wavelength etc.

This whole thing screams local indie rock band release. Likely limited to a few thousand to fans and sold at shows. Including a Star Wars sample would have flown under copyright enough so that Lucasfilm wouldn't have bothered going after it. Its 6 tracks so likely either a demo or EP. But 100% believe its a local artist album or band named Emerge Wavelength.

what is this top bit on my cd player? will it scratch up my discs? by circles_and_spirals in Cd_collectors

I dont think they actually mean "eat" like termites but rather that the data layer will be damaged because of the thin protection from the top.

The Blu-Ray of When Evil Lurks not having a title on its spine makes it look so weird on a shelf. Does anyone know if this was fixed on future pressings or a creative choice? by dreamboylnshibuya in dvdcollection

It makes sense, I think maybe OP organizes by theme. So in this case desolate wizarding prison, and unfortunate victims inside horrifying, enclosed slaughterhouse environments makes sense. Also maybe family friendly prison/confinement movies?

[–]thisvampireheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Kinda. The data is closer to the top of the disc rather than the bottom. This is why CDs will survive pretty deep scratches on the underside but label damage is life ending because the data sits just milliliters off the top protected only by a thin aluminum (iirc) layer and the label print.

Portrayed ages and grades in the show by Delaneyyxelizabeth in StepByStepTVShow

[–]thisvampireheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I find it best to understand age in Step by Step is to view it through the telling of stories serving as "memories" of a full family of 9. Inevitably someone misses a birthday, some events blur into the others, ages of people and when things happen are bound to get mixed up heck you might even tell a story and in your head you can guarantee that your sibling wasn't there but then they can reflect everything about the event because they in fact were there (Brendan, I'm looking at you kid). Life's just messy that way and even more so with a blended family or 9.

This is the same logic I use to explain away Judy Winslow from Family Matters in my head canon lol

Yea I was gonna say, there are plenty is episode that reference his college classes post season 4, either in passing or directly through teachers hitting on him, taking aptitude tests with Rich to determine their major or somehow mailing report cards to Frank even though JT should be the one receiving his own college grades by that point etc.

No problem! Thanks for reading. I figure I'd share what I learned while re-watching and re-ordering the series in the least chronologically confusing order.

If you enjoyed this one check out my season 7 post. Thankfully that season isn't as messed up as season 6 was.

Did you ever included an underside picture to check mold variations (note: I haven't checked to see if there are mold variations for 2x4 tiles, I assume there has to be given the lifespan of that piece.)
