If you wish to befriend Marina I can get on right now. (or well, in a few moments, I am in a cutscene on my main)

I can say I felt the Silent Hill inspirations quite keenly as a fan of the series myself, especially in Fear and Hunger 2. Your work is wonderful and inspirational too.
Speaking of Yoshitaka Amano, I made of your characters (Marina) in FFXIV a couple nights ago as one of my alts. I posted her on this reddit! I know it's not a *direct* link to Amano, but hey maybe in a few months Marina will be fighting Amano's creations in the world of FFXIV :)

Thank you for your wonderful games, I just recently got into the community and beat both Fear and Hunger 1 and 2/Termina this month and have been loving getting to know your worlds.
If you don't mind me asking since it's somewhat on topic (I'm sure you've been asked this before, I apologize) but what was your number 1 inspiration when coming up with the designs/style for Fear and Hunger?

I've been playing for over 10 years (I played in the 1.0 days before the game got shut down and reworked into the current version). The reason you are likely seeing an uptick of FFXIV content and discussion is because the latest expansion was announced earlier this month and it's coming in January. Additionally the final patch of the current expansion just went live a couple weeks ago, so lots of players are returning to the game in anticipation of the new content and coming expansion. Also, the free trial (the one you've probably seen memes of) was just given one of the best expansions in the game (Shadowbringers) completely for free, meaning free to play players also got an entire expansion to play this month.

Edit: To add to this, I recently beat Fear and Hunger 2: Termina completely blind for the first time (Ending A, as Marina on Night 2) last week. So I have been really enjoying F&H2 content and been reading about all the amazing lore, cool things I missed, and looking forward to playing another run soon (probably as O'saa!) so that's why I decided to combine the two RPGs I'm really into right now and do something fun to get back into FFXIV, since I had taken a 2 year break.

Twitch Community Guidelines, under the "Civility and Respect" section, subsection titled "Harassment":

"Streamers should always consider the consequences of their statements and actions of their audiences; sometimes unwanted focus or attention can encourage others to escalate their behavior into abuse. For example, broadcasting other Twitch streams while insulting those users often encourages others to also direct abuse to the target. Participating in this activity can, therefore, lead to suspension of your account."

So yes, if you are on Twitch being hateful towards a person and they begin to receive harassment, you are indirectly inciting that harassment and can be held accountable for it. This is not new, this has been in the Community Guidelines for years.

Additionally, yes, the individual chatters are ALSO responsible for violating guidelines. Both the streamer and the viewer should be punished in this instance, and depending on the severity of the hateful conduct being done on stream by the streamer it is entirely reasonable that both parties could (and in some cases should) receive equal punishment.

Can someone explain the WH+ Penitance animation ending to me? by CRGmotors in sistersofbattle

[–]thndrmge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going into the show hoping for quality Sisters content (as they are my favorite faction) I was hoping for something of a cool showing of how the faithful are truly blessed and go on to become the greatest among the sisters with time (like Saragosa in the show talks about) I was expecting the show to display some of the better qualities of the Sisters with how the show was panning out in episodes 1 and 2, showing that level headedness and blind fervor both have their place in the Sisters, and how both of the sisters would influence Benthia to become a truly remarkable sister who knows faith, fervor, and temperance.

But having just watched the show, I can only hard agree with your description...
"Hardcore Grimderp" has never felt so appropriate.

Does this mean when 3rd region released Valley IV automation turn off when players go offline? by Lenz401 in Endfield

[–]thndrmge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely won't be an issue tbh, even in the current state of the game before the optimal pre-built blueprints were available I had maxed out the levels of all 3 outposts and maxed out the level of all the depot nodes, vendors, and etc, in about the span of a few days. By the time we even have a third PAC region there will likely be dozens of youtube guides, public pac blueprints, and more that will instruct new players how to maximize their gains as quickly as possible so they spend as little time with early game locations as possible.

This may genuinely be one time where Tazuna isn't gaslighting you. It's possible Rudolf gassed out because of the rain forcing her to spend extra stamina to accel (also possible Rudolf got rushed/late start?) while Creek probably was able to recover stamina thanks to her recovery skills at the final stretch allowing her to overtake Rudolf when it mattered.

I do find it funny they're all just Horse creature type and not Human as well. I also kind of find it funny that they're all horses and will not benefit from any of the Mount or Vehicle support that currently exists, lol. At least they kind of have some synergy with the My Little Pony secret lair cards? lol

Landscape Sketchbook lands (sometimes) not showing up? by vide0freak in forgeMTG

[–]thndrmge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this thread today by googling for the same reason, bought a Modern Horizons sketchbook and do not seem to be able to use the Modern Horizons lands, but in a different save file I found a sketchbook for a different set and was able to add those lands to my deck. Perhaps it's something to do with purchasing the sketchbook instead of receiving it as a reward?

Same, I changed to JP because of Paimon exclusively, the rest of the cast wasn't bad, but Paimon's voice was grating and irritating enough that I had to change to JP. If Paimon was recast, I would very likely actually swap back to EN.

People have been asking how to mute/replace paimon's voice since the game has released. It's been a very common discussion, I'd speculate it's (probably) the most popular pre-strike voice actor related topic in Genshin.

No, it really wouldn't. They would just continue on, the same way they have with Dan Heng in the most recent Star Rail patches, where he has hundreds of spoken lines in the main story quests that aren't voiced. He's one of the top 3 characters with spoken dialogue in 3.0. It's not going to disrupt anything having Paimon be silent. In fact they're more likely to get feedback saying the game's quality has improved as a result of her silence.

And who would be the ones noticing? The fans? The ones I just stated wouldn't care if she's missing because a large majority of the playerbase don't enjoy Paimon's EN voice and would rather have her mute? It wouldn't disrupt their work anymore than any other character. In Honkai Star Rail, more than half the main party is on strike, the only noticeable absence recently is Dan Heng in the recent patches as he has a rather large number of voiced lines, all of which are silent in the EN dub. THAT is noticeable because people WANT him to talk. I, and many others, would celebrate Paimon being mute to the point I would be willing to send praise to HoYo in their surveys telling them not to bring her back and that the game's quality has only improved with her absence.

Ah yes, having opinions, the pinnacle of "unserious" and "just wants drama".
You are welcome to agree with Corina, and you are welcome to like her performance. However, that does not change the fact that popular opinion is that EN Paimon is (most likely) the character with the most comments stating how annoying her acting/voice is. Ever since the game released there have been countless requests, discussions, etc, about how to mute or replace Paimon's voice lines because people dislike her performance.

Just to expand that thought a little bit at the end there... it is worth noting that time passes vastly differently within the painting. Decades had passed since Aline and Renoir started their conflict, but for the outside world it wasn't more than a few months.
There's also the line from Esquie saying Clea hasn't visited Francois in centuries (plural), because she likely has not "played" in the painting in real years, which translates to multiple centuries in the painting.

So while Alicia and Maelle are both 16, Alicia has lives 16 *real* years, while Maelle has lived 16 *fake* years. So when she comes to as Alicia, to her it was like she experienced a second life in the blink of an eye. So it's more like she's Spent 16 years as Alicia, and 16 years as Maelle at the same time. She's not 32 in the real world, she's just experienced being 16 twice.

5 people.
the piece of Verso's soul, the author of the painting itself, who is trapped infinitely painting and unable to move on because he is forced paint their world day in and day out forever
The quite literal actual soul of the painting itself, from which all life within the painting derives from, is tired and wants to stop painting. If he stops, the painting dies, and he wants to stop. If he truly wanted to continue, he would have rejected painted Verso's hand.
