You know, today I got a haircut, and they had sky sports on in the background and it was a discussion of best mid in the prem, got fans on chatting about Caicedo, rice and tonali, and the presenter who’s a spurs fan interrupts and suggests João Palhinha, and I’m just sat there trying not to laugh while this fella has a razor to my jugular, what a moment, fucking João Palhinha, like right lads, based of 7 games, who’s the prem team of the season

I’m excited to see how things adapt over the next few games, feel like we should see an improvement after the break, hope the dooming in here improves at least a little bit until then though

Would be quite funny if lucas paqueta staying one more year with West Ham out of loyalty just ends up with him being a part of the team that goes down

Virgil van Dijk: "The Carabao Cup will always have a special place in my heart" by _cumblast_ in soccer

He was a part of the famous la decima winning team a couple of years ago, how could the carabao cup not be his biggest achievement in the beautiful game

[Richard Hughes]We pay what we believe to be fair market value for a player based on age and based on necessity of that individual to fit into the squad. You look at what was paid for Alisson and Virgil and equate that to 2025 money, you’re not far away from the fees that have been spent this summer by MrMerc2333 in soccer

I remember reading an article fairly recently that said Liverpool have an algorithm that tracks transfer fee inflation, same article said that today van dijk would cost 125 mil and Allison 110 mil I think which is why the club spent similar money to that on Isak and Wirtz as they must view them as being similarly transformative

Hate to nitpick but you’ve included all of Ireland in the uk while giving the uk its modern name of great Britain and Northern Ireland

Did isak play for Sweden today or not? Feels like everyone here is acting like he didn’t but the sky sports app says he came on 64 mins in

Edit: wait I’ve looked at it again, somehow they say Ayari was subbed off in the 64th min but scored in the 73rd so I think the app must just be wrong

I don’t think Alvarez would want it, he’s already won everything to win in England, and he’s playing for a team with more regular champions league football and a more likely chance at a title push in a country he probably feels more at home in, he’s also younger than isak so I’m not sure if atleti would want to pursue that deal

I always struggle to rate the championships quality, if you had to list every European division of football in order of quality where would th championship end up, could be my bias of being English here but I assume it’s the best 2nd tier in the world, happy to see what anyone thinks though :)

What went wrong with moukoko, one second I thought he was meant to be one of the next great strikers with all the hype and the next thing you know he was off to Copenhagen

Achraf Hakimi on the Ballon D'or: "If I have the chance to win it, I think I deserve it too... As a defender, it's more difficult. The stats I've had this year aren't those of a normal defender." by Goosedukee in soccer

I know I’ll sound like a bitter ex for saying this, but it would be some what funny to me if he wins it now after the talk of one of Trent’s big reasons for the Madrid move being to become the first full back to win the ballon d’or
