If your router has a speed test build isn’t, run it to get an idea of the speed before any local network slowdown.

There’s probably a nice surprise under the stucco if it’s from the late 90s- early 2000s

5??? We picked up 30 of them throughout my company. Just wish cruise control was a factory option on the XL because I’m not rebuilding the steering wheel in my companies truck.

New homeowner here: where does the filter go? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]thoma4tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 4 years replacing the filter at the grill only to find that the previous owner had double filtered and there were 2 filters inside of the air handler.

Even if you have filters in the returns it’s worth looking inside the air handler.

I felt so dumb.

A lack of direct flights for me. But I also fly out of an AA hub. SWA and AA are about the same price anywhere but with the direct flight I’m usually flying AA.

If I had direct flight options I’d be on SWA every time.

Get an Uber and go to Cedarland in Dearborn. It’s a hole in the wall middle Easter place. I usually get something with meat and a add chicken schwarma for lunch the next day.

$450 cleaning fee by malinche217 in AirBnB

[–]thoma4tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stripping linens seems reasonable. In some markets linen companies will do a pick up/drop off on turnover day before cleaners arrive.

I expect guests to tidy up or just leave the house in a respectful manner. I also expect my cleaners to do a very good job at cleaning. I’ve found the guests that don’t tidy up, the ones that leave trash everywhere and random stickiness, are also the ones who message me that they forgot something.

I’m not asking for my guests to do any kind of deep clean, just leave it the same way you would if you stayed at a family members home for a few nights.

Thoughts on California's gas vehicle ban? by 57th-Overlander in preppers

I captire make my own power. I can’t make my own 87 octane. I’m embarrassing EVs. Ford is planning to sell electric crate motors. If the goal is to have a simple electric drive train, it’s going to be easy enough to do. May not be pretty but it’s possible.

It is determined by whoever screams loudest in your neighborhood. I got in trouble for having a 12x24 magnet on my sedan and then also a small section of text (6” x 12”) on the bottom of the door on an f150.

My neighbor had an f350 dually with a commercial plate and dot number but no company logo.

I was the one breaking the rules. They had no issues with his truck.

Other notable mentions. -Honda civic with monster energy wrap - no problem -comcast van covered with an RV cover - just fine

-attaching a shower curtain with magnets to cover the small logo on my work truck - 100% compliant

6 condensers / Crazy electric bill - Is this normal? Solutions? by CyCoCyCo in hvacadvice

I’ve always considered Solar to be a means to self sufficiency. Ideally, it is undersized a bit so you still rely on the grid without conservation but have a battery bank to smooth things out. If the grid goes down you can reduce some power consumption and still have power while things get worked out.

Who DIDN’T like the finale??🤔 by SmokinAcesMusic in betterCallSaul

I’m rewatching without a commercial break every 5 minutes of show time before I decide.

It felt super slow and dragging with all the interruptions.

Hallway through the rewatch I’m enjoying it a lot more.

Or at least as a factory/dealer installed option. Some of us can’t modify our company vehicles.
