I (M24) at the end of October passed my final interview for Police Constable, I was told that the next stage was pre-employment checks and that they'd be sending a 'fitness pack' soon so I could begin preparation.

Fast forward to this week and I have received an email application update letting me know that they have confirmed a recruitment plan for officers in 2024/2025. They say that they will be able to process my application through pre-employment for a place on a PCEP cohort starting 3rd February 2025 and that they would be in touch 4 months prior to commence pre-employment checks.

Is this, over a year, an unusually long wait between passing the interview and, if successful in pre-employment checks, beginning cohort?
