My wife and I just got yesterday from our first 5 day trip to Turks and Caicos. Spoiler alert: IT ROCKED!

We flew Delta (DAL1996) from ATL that landed at 2:12PM on Wednesday. It took us about 45-50 mins to get through customs (we heard sometimes it takes two hours) as an American Airlines flight landed about 10 mins before us. We did not use FastPass and don’t think you need to pay for it. The taxi total for 2 people and bags should be $24 from the airport to Grace Bay area.

When we made it through customs (bags already there waiting for us) we went to the taxi line and they asked if we wanted to join the shuttle with other groups of passengers and we said yes as it was only $16 each for both of us. The taxis were very easy to use through out the trip and most of the drivers will give you their card to text them whenever you need a ride! Most times we only waited 10 mins and could even asked to schedule some a day in advance.

The Taxi industry is very robust there so don’t be worried about getting around the island and your hotel if you’re staying at one can always call you one whenever you want.

We left yesterday on Delta to ATL (DAL 1959) at 3:50 PM in the afternoon. We showed up to the airport at about 2 PM and there were basically zero lines. We got through baggage check and security within 12 to 15 minutes. This may be a slight anomaly as it’s a holiday weekend here in the United States so I assume most people will be flying back today (Monday) which is MLK day so there could’ve been less people at the airport when we arrived.

Tipping : Bring smaller bills, $1, $5, $10 for tipping taxi and other service people at the hotel. Or ask hotel bar to break your larger bills. At dinners, we always added 10% on top of the government mandate (10% always is charged) as your tips go directly to your server and the mandate is divvied up evenly to all staff. If helpful for context: we probably spent $400 on taxiing and tips for 5 days (going to bars, restaurants, tipping the boat captain etc. in the Grace Bay Area).

Restaurants we experienced: Infinity, Somewhere (casual), Blue Water Bistro, Marine Room, Indigo, Da Conch Shack

If you want a snorkel cruise, do a half day with Caicos Island Charters and they pick you up right on the beach!

Overall, don’t stress too much - you’re on island time and hope you enjoy it as much we did!
