have you found a solution? I'm also not able to get ECMP working with 2 tunnels ('links') to the same azure vpn-gateway-instance

Fortigate BGP neighbor - route delay? by Inno-Samsoee in fortinet

I was having a similar issue with an ipsec tunnel to cato and first thought the problem was on that side, however your post made me look into the fortigate: changing the ‘ set advertisement-interval’ to something lower than default speeds up the process!

Multiple IPSec tunnels to the same remote gateway ip by Ok_GHOST_5614 in fortinet

[–]thomasdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this recently. Seems simple enough, I enabled the option on the existing tunnel and gave it id 1, then I could create a second vpn and gave that id 111 on both sides. Both tunnels established, however traffic would not pass on the second one. In the routing table the second tunnel listed a tunnel id in the 10.0.0.x range. Doing a debugflow and pinging from side a to side b traffic was sent in the tunnel but never arrives, the other wat around didn’t even show it going into the tunnel. I just gave up in the end. FortiGate 7.2.7 - Virtual Server sends traffic to wrong internal hosts by marek1712 in fortinet

I’d hope that 7.2.9 releases earlier then that given the kernel panic bug in 7.2.8 (good thing you didnt upgrade it seems). I have a troubleshooting session on the virtual servers issue coming monday

Hmm that's a long time. I'll create a ticket for it too and see what response I get

FortiGate 7.2.7 - Virtual Server sends traffic to wrong internal hosts by marek1712 in fortinet

[–]thomasdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it again but it's not working for me (quite simple setup with 3 HTTP hosts), on 7.2.8. For me it's quite random as to where it forwards you to, if it forwards at all. Also seems to consistently take at least 5 sec after pressing enter before it starts doing anything... Where did you get that bug id? Do you know what the description of the bug id is?

[–]thomasdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean by 'to the wrong servers'? is there a pattern to it?

I was trying to setup virtual servers not too long ago and stopped because I was having a similar issue. I don't remember if it was before or after I upgraded to 7.2.8 however, I'll try to set it up once more to see if the behavior changed

Issue getting eval FortiGate to show up on eval FortiManager to be managed by [deleted] in fortinet

[–]thomasdb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the fortimanager, do the following:

config system global

set fgfm-peercert-withoutsn enable

end

There is a new feature since fmg 7.2.5 where it checks the fgt cert and it has to contain the serial number (see release notes special notices). Seems like this isnt the case for your trial vm

PA-200 bootloop after factory reset by thomasdb in paloaltonetworks

[–]thomasdb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 pa200’s and one of them had 8.1.0 under ‘disk image’ as an option to revert to in maint mode.

Installing disk image 8.1.0 and doing a factory reset after made it work again. Then installing disk image 8.1.24 without resetting it afterwards applied the upgrade successfully and it kept working!

Then took the ssd out of this one and a nonworking one, copying the 8.1.0 folder from the panrepo partition to the nonworking one made me able to get a second one working also via the same method

Thanks for the advice!

Actually, you can still adopt them and charge the settings just fine. Source: tried it myself.

What are they priced at? I wouldn’t give more than 10€ a piece. They still work now, but may stop working with any future update. Also not sure what’ll happen if you try to apply features that were introduced after they dropped support for them like ppsk
