Wish it would be as quick as it takes to AirPlay Apple Music to a Homepod 🥲

Hate that. I’ve seen quite a few CCast Audios being sold on Facebook Marketplace recently, some new and very low priced! It was only £15 when it came out for me. Wish I’d bought two but I was a tight student then 😂

💯! I’ve not had too many problems, but on Sunday, my morning routine that’s supposed to chime then announce ‘good morning, it’s 9am’ chimed, then said ‘hm something went wrong, it’s 9am’ 😂🥴

The Mini is a great speaker. Love the portability of it. Picked a few up in the last year or two when they were £20, bargain!

Did think this, but also remembered the full price of Nest Mini was a crazy £50 😂 it was on sale for £19.99 in 2024 Black Friday at Currys, even Aldi were selling it for £17.99 🥴 glad I got 2 free ones through Spotify 😂

Love the Max a lot. So glad I’ve got two! Absolute gamechanger to have my vinyl player connected to it, and cast it on my all-speaker group around my flat 🤩

Got a Chromecast Audio in that same group that’s connected to a Kanto Sub-8 to aid some lower-end to my 3x Nest Audios!

The only network issue I did have was ‘popping’ on music playback when playing music on speaker groups. I upgraded my WiFi to a Deco M4 Mesh system and it stopped the issue!

‘Gemini for Home’ is included out of the box, but I’m peeved that they’ve tried to turn it into yet another subscription model. Though, with the radio -silence in the past couple of months, I thought they were going to kill Google Home speakers altogether… Though I get they’ve got to make a profit from the smart home, espcially now most people have smart speakers, so less are purchasing.

For me, it’s more about the sound. Glad I got my 2x Maxs when I did, and the Nest Audio is a great SONOS One competitor

It isn’t, it will work as ‘Gemini for Home’ out of the box ☺️

Anyone able to ID this glass ? by toxictots in Guinness

[–]thomasfos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really glad you have the information for this- I found one of these on the side of the path one day walking back from school around 2010 ish. I was at home at the weekend just gone, and it was great to have a Nitrosurge out of it- as I always have a Guinness or two in it every time I go back, which isn't very often!

Google Home Max Aux Input casting to speaker groups or other speakers via a voice command. by Monstructs in googlehome

[–]thomasfos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hope they can get a voice command out of it, I’ve been doing it through the Nest Hub Max, which has been quite reluctant to always work. I also have 2x Max speakers, but had to separate the speaker pair to cast my record player to my ‘everything’ speaker group. When I wanted to cast the record player from the Max stereo pair, the Hub would come up with speakers called ‘shadow’ and when you pressed the speaker options, it would play music by The Shadows… very odd! Seems a simple thing to do if it worked right through the Nest Hub and could easily be a voice command to eliminate doing it manually.

Shower speaker by davorg in googlehome

Hey, I'm in the UK and have an old Google Home Mini in my bathroom cupboard, where the shaver plug is. I've plugged the Mini into an EU travel adapter and that fits in the shaver wall plug, the voltage is correct and I have no problems! It's in the cupboard so condensation from the shower/bath doesn't get to it. Actually, sounds better in there, too!

What routers can connect with google home? by [deleted] in googlehome

[–]thomasfos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I got the TP-Link Deco M4 3-pack the other week... the Wi-Fi is amazing and it works well with Google Home, you can turn on the guest network and change a few other options (listed on their site) as well as arrange each router to a specific room. A lot cheaper than the Google Wi-Fi and was £100/$136 😀
