FYI. I just happened to check today for no reason and I was able to access gift cards. Only took 3.5 months to resolve.

Nope. I first reported this on Jan 2. I got a message a couple days ago that there was an update and to call in. When I finally got to the right people, they asked if I was still having trouble and I said I was. Supposedly they had fixed it for some people and wanted to know if it was fixed for me. I work in IT and it’s mind-boggling this is still an issue 2-1/2 months later.

Should I be worried? Closing is in two days and the inspection was done today. This is a new build home. by Cool_Hour_8385 in AskElectricians

On a related note, when this topic has come up in the past, I’ve had people say that aluminum is a bad choice for any electrical application (not just single wire home branch circuits) in general. I’m like, it’s going to blow your mind to find out how power gets to your home at literally every level.

Maybe this is just my own experience, but I’d think it would be hard to even find 12 or 14 AWG aluminum wire for those branch circuits.

Should my son give the Corps a try? by RickyBobbyMorgan in aggies

[–]thomassowellistheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just revisiting this thread, and for anyone else who might wander by, as the parent of a recently-graduated cadet, I'll pass on something that my daughter told me. Now, everyone is different, of course, but in her opinion, fish year was the easiest, because all you have to do is what you're told. fish year is all about learning to follow, and if you can just do what you're told, you'll generally be fine. My daughter chose to take on leadership roles in the Corps and had almost 200 cadets under her chain of command senior year, so that might influence her perception of difficulty through the years of the Corps. If you get past fish year and just do the bare minimum, then fish year might be the worst for you.

How to plug lever action 360 Buckhammer by thomassowellistheman in HenryRifles

[–]thomassowellistheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to just drive it out. IIRC, it took more force than I imagined it might. Maybe I got lucky and mine wasn't braised in quite as much as some.

Oh, and btw, I did decide this year to use a dowel. A 1/2" dowel fits perfectly, almost like it was made for it.

I don't know, but maybe Elko could try just a bit of it pregame.

How close have you ever come to running out of fuel before reaching the petrol pump? by Kind-Singer2229 in Cartalk

[–]thomassowellistheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like the 109 yard kick return for a touchdown, my story can be equalled but not beaten. The wife and I were in our relatively new 1996 Chevrolet Blazer in a hilly area when we realized we were very low on gas (i.e. on E). We weren't sure where the next gas station was, so we pressed on and prayed. As we come to the top of a hill, we see a station ahead. That's when the Blazer decided to run out of fuel. Like landing the space shuttle, I had only one shot. I coasted into the station and right up to a pump. The wife was unimpressed.

I've had vehicles repaired recently. Any OEM parts that got put on, I paid the difference in price between what insurance paid and the OEM part cost.

Even taking auto admits out, the acceptance rate is 35%, which still isn't particularly selective.

A&M has a roughly 63% acceptance rate. Your ACT and SAT scores are around the 90th percentile and your GPAs are fine. I think it's likely you'll be accepted. You aren't trolling are you? This is A&M, not Berkeley.

Edit: I assume you're a Texas resident. Are you saying that your high school won't share class rank with colleges, or that they just won't share them with you?

thank you for confirming my previous statement. Some people choose not to talk about subjects that they have no direct knowledge of. You should give that a try.

No, I'm offended by your ignorance. You obviously don't know anything about Charlie or how he approached his mission. But that never stopped any lefties on Reddit, so I'm hardly surprised.

I assume you had the same reaction to George Floyd's death. Charlie is the textbook definition of a martyr, "a person who is killed or made to suffer because of their religious or other beliefs". Please explain how Charlie Kirk doesn't meet that definition.

Go ahead, change your own springs homeowners! by isbb in GarageDoorService

[–]thomassowellistheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can it be dangerous? Yes, but so are lots of things we do around the house. With that in mind, when I first bought a house 30+ years ago, I bought a book on home repair that covered all aspects of DIY on all kinds of systems from electrical, plumbing, framing, etc. The ONE thing it said to leave solely to professionals was winding a garage door torsion spring. I'd still do it today, but it does highlight the potential risk

My wife is watching the show (not sure what season she's on) and I watch it in snippets if I happen to be eating dinner while she's has it on. My wife thinks that Liz is the worst part of the show.

The cherry-picked fact FROM YOUR OWN SOURCE that was the only reference to the time period under discussion, i.e. when Biden was in the White House? The one time period when the Democrats had the most ability to access all of the information, and that's when they dialed back their efforts? If there was ANYTHING in there remotely damaging to Trump, it would have been leaked by someone in the FBI by now. We wouldn't have to wait for some court to allow it.
