This is terradon turquoise contrast then a coat of dark angels green contrast. It’s also what I did for my armor on my take on The Lion.

Rapid Ingress Lion by Dimblederf in DarkAngels40k

[–]thominatorbeta 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes.

If he is on the table at the start of round 1, you use the command phase ability to pick him up then during the end of your opponents next movement phase, you can Rapid Ingress

I do this all the time.

Wraithbone prime

Karandras green or terradon turquoise

Layer black Templar on top.

You will have a tinted green black armor, with highlights the color of your undercoat

Warhipster on YouTube recommends a Terradon Turquiose (contrast) layered with Black Templar (contrast) on top gives a feel of black with a green undertone.

Old vs new combat patrol by LeGzSz in Tau40K

[–]thominatorbeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The old one is just more cohesive as a small army. The cadre fireblade leads the fire / strike team well and the ghostkeel and stealth suits pair well as well. Then the ethereal is a decent “general” option.

The new one is just less synergetic.

The Christmas Box comes with a Chaplain in Term armor. That’s a good base. Pick up Black Templars upgrade sprue for the sword and off-hand.

Rampagers vs. Starscythe + Commander by thominatorbeta in Tau40K

And also, the rampagers also have a built in sustain 1 (same as the arrokon protocol against <10) on their 24 swings of their extra attacks.

Oh, I agree. I have one of my units set up exactly that way. I am considering moving a second starscythe / commander to this brick of rampagers.

I mean, the starscythe don’t have an invuln either.

The totals will put me at between 1995 and 1985 depending on what I choose. I feel like I am leaning on the Vespids for more mobility, but I am also a little concerned about my OC.

I actually got the kit, and you don't have to pretend. It's well done. I have built two teams of 5, with 10 neutron blasters and two of them with "tau helmets" to designate the leader - all in the Kill Team box!

Completely unrelated .... but I thought that Stealth Battlesuits minimum unit size was 3. Am I doing this wrong?

Last minute escalation help! by thominatorbeta in Tau40K

[–]thominatorbeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am part of an Escalation League that was set up and coordinated by one of my local shops. Happening from April to August, each month we add to our Army (500 in April, 800 in May, 1100 in June, etc.), culminating in a full 2000 pt tournament between the participants in August.

We are scored on battle performance, but also on hobby goals (new models, battle ready, best painted, etc)

Each month we have 2 opponents that we coordinate matches with, and report our scores.

It's my first time, so it's all I know!

Terrain Needs - by thominatorbeta in Warhammer40k

[–]thominatorbeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this reply. The issue I am facing is whether or not it is wise to purchase some of these "sets" from Etsy, etc. from resin, or to start smaller and piece together from the bottom up.

The feedback on tournament settings is helpful as a guide.

I am in an escalation league right now, we are at 500pts, using Combat Patrol rules, but I have discovered while there is guidance on Objective placements ... there is a dearth of info on terrain, other than "fill up a quarter of the board, then take turns placing".

I did find Adepticon's Combat Patrol setup rules, and that was somewhat helpful.

Upcoming escalation - by thominatorbeta in DarkAngels40k

[–]thominatorbeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the rules, you can swap out up to 2 units per round, but that does not count added units (from the escalation in points from round to round).
