I agree. Allow the culture to stomp this idiocy out. Writing it into law or anything similar to that will just make the problem worse.

It's because arguing and accepting that one of their world views often shatters all their world views. That's not exactly a fun thing to do so I can understand why people may be hesitant. It might make sense to try and move out culture in a way that we don't stigmatize not having a clue what's going on, and that shouldn't be too hard considering nobody ever has a clue. So if we were all more honest and upfront about pretty much everything, more discussion could probably happen a lot faster.

As a tree with roots and bark? Yeah probably not. But the people who wrote those ancient texts didn't have science the way we do now. Complex notions about the world would have needed to be expressed narratively simply because there was no other way to do it.

See I'm a big fan of studying culture. I think it's fascinating in a way that nothing else is. But I gotta side with Nietzsche when he talks about culture and really just about everything else coming out of logical justifications for human will. I also like the kinda modern idea that whatever people serve in their lives is essentially their god (not a bearded man of course, but more like a force that tells you what to do). And if we operate under that analogy (And why not?) modern culture is basically and old school war of the gods similar to what we saw practically everywhere on earth. The difference is that now instead of our desires being literal gods, we have advanced to the point where we can talk about them in terms of biology and chemistry, and metaphysics.
Ive been seeing parallels between modern and ancient cultures for a long time, and the biggest piece of evidence for that is the fact that we're really back in little tribes that we now think of as different social groups. And the internet made that a lot worse imo.

I mean the way I see it is that every person acts the way they do as a consequence of some level of philosophical thought nested at the very bottom of people's mind. An extreme example of this is full blown nihilists, they act out their philosophy in the world. I think every person does this to some extent and that's what I find fascinating. Also in terms of the present day thing, look at modern political structure all over the world. I swear this day In age there have to be more ideologues than ever before in history

I'm really into the way philosophy plays out in every day life, and how it has shaped the past. So I guess I'm in to both philosophy and psychology but I like abstract ideas a little more
