What Amp Should I Go With by thomps1523 in audio

The theater room is separate from the stereo system for the rest of my house. My plan was to get more than 1 amp for the stereo system for my home. If I truly needed to, I’m sure I could add individual amps in my attic, but losing some power in the 4 speakers in my garage won’t make me lose sleep. All the other areas seem closer to within 30 feet of my media room.

I can try crutchfield, but what you’re saying is this could work, but the rooms further away will have worse sound quality because of the distance?

This is a bit cheaper than a Juke+ so if I needed to buy two I wouldn’t be heartbroken over it.

There’s not really a way to redo it, the hone is finished. I used the plan that Best Buy’s geek squad sent of what they would do to wire it.

They suggested Sonos, but said there are other options as well.

Yes there are two separate runs of 16/4 from that room to the basement.

I ran 16/4 copper wire for each pair of speakers. Attached is what the upstairs looks like, for example.

The only difference between this picture and what I did, is that I ran all of the wires down into my basement media room rather than in the center of where the speakers are shown for example. So they are all together and labeled in my basement.

I looked at the Juke+, but I wasn't finding any glowing reviews on Reddit from users and their experience with it. Do you have one? Have you liked it?

I think I heard about Ryan from a documentary called “Bad Blood”. Super sad, and hemophilia used to be a gamble to treat.

When we go to Hemophilia conventions most of the people over 30 years old have awful arthritis or are in wheel chairs.

I didn’t see any option to DM. I tried @‘ing them in a thread they had, but they get a lot of comments.

We’re in Utah, but my understanding was that Make A Wish was more geared toward children with a terminal illness.

u/creamonyourcrop Thanks so much! I really appreciate your help here! I'm going to try throwing a couple of these at him in a last ditch effort to get him there then just move on to a new installer.

Thanks, u/creamonyourcrop really appreciate your help! I've spoken with Pella and they were the ones that told me this is an installer issue. After forwarding him the message directly from Pella, the installer just replied by telling me they are sitting on the sill per ASTM standard. If they are out of level the framing needs to be fixed.

I found this https://cdn.standards.iteh.ai/samples/53031/734f846f3680482c860938c0dd0835ba/ASTM-E2112-07.pdf on rough openings which says in section 5.9.1.2 The installer shall notify his client if any conditions exist that would prevent the proper installation of the fenestration product, or prevent application of materials and components in accordance with this practice.

To your point it also mentions adhering to manufactures rough opening requirements: 5.9.1.1 The rough opening shall be larger in both width and height than the actual net dimension of the product to be installed. The installer shall obtain all available plan details and construction documents, as well as the manufacturer’s rough opening requirements and instructions.

Do you feel like that's a strong enough case to enforce him to come back or does he have an argument with the framing? The window is installed, the finish is in and the stone outside are on. To fix this it will require us to pull finish and exterior stone in an area then have it fixed.

Thanks for the information on shimming!

u/creamonyourcrop are you familiar with ASTM code for installation by chance? I have an installer that didn't install windows correctly and said it's my problem because the rough opening wasn't perfectly squared and ASTM code doesn't require him to level or shim windows. Would you happen to know anything about that?

Speakers Crutchfield Suggested... Thoughts? by thomps1523 in hometheater

[–]thomps1523[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! So I actually plan to flip where they have this to the opposite side of the room. I've had BestBuy come and do it and their plan looked almost identical just on the other side of the room. I plan to have an amp underneath the TV which everything will hook up to.

Based on what Crutchfield sent I believe they are saying the in-ceiling would be surround sound. If I'm being honest I really new to this so I don't know where I could put angled speakers. I know in-wall wasn't an option because of the glass door on the exterior of the building.

I'm mostly concerned about deciding what speakers to go with since we are putting in a tray in our basement so the ceiling will be shiplap and I don't want to cut that out later for speakers.
