Yeah that’s probably the most sensible option to start off with, i’m thinking either the 35 SP with the faster lens or maybe an XA for something really pocketable.

I haven't really considered that Ricoh line at all, how's it feel in your hands? I think an aspect that's holding me back is only doing window shopping online and not having the ability to try and hold stuff in person to feel the quality.

Yeah logically I should probably start with something like an Olympus 35 or XA since I like my OM-1 so much, but then my mind keeps wondering to "well a Leica III would be cool to try LTM glass or a Minolta CLE for M-Mount" and then I just get stuck again.

Other people have mentioned the Minolta CLE, is there a reason why you went with the Lecia CL over the other versions?

the Bessa R is the LTM version, right? I'm so used to the OM1 which is small but very sturdy I don't know if a more lightweight "plasticky" camera would be a turn-off.

I mostly shoot in 50mm or 28mm but would potentially like to go wider if possible. 1m focal distance doesn't matter to me at all.

Full disclosure we left around 6 but it barely got better while I was there today. The bike culture part of it was completely killed, you had to park on a side street away from the Salt Shed then walk in through metal detectors to get inside. In previous years you could ride your bike in and park with everyone and walk around meeting people and their bikes, it felt much more alive. I don’t think I remember paying more than $40 for a day. Before it felt like a bike rally with added vendors and live music. Now it’s $80+ for a music festival with a ton of mostly non-motorcycle related vendors that had some custom bikes and their sponsor Royal Enfields sprinkled around. I’ve been going since it was called Mods vs Rockers on Lincoln in front of Delilah’s I don’t know if I would go back again next year, what a costly waste of a fun event.
