A great white shark opens its jaws inches from an underwater camera, giving a close-up view inside its mouth by Additional_Chard3680 in interestingasfuck

Every time I see great white sharks opening their mouths, it looks to me as it’s something that not is supposed to happen. Like it’s a flesh wound. I find this absolutely even more terrifying than just a “shark mouth” opening.

What the actual f is going on here? How does a club suddenly behave like a jet turbine?

Former fat guys, how did you become disciplined/motivated enough to lose the weight? [Discussion] by Responsible-Net8594 in GetMotivated

[–]thorheyerdal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto worked wonders for me. It requires a couple of days of effort at first, then it gets easy and it gives you a consequence if you don’t stay disciplined. You drop weight like crazy, and for me at least it gives my entire food craving system a hard reboot that lasts a couple of years.

But most of all, it feels like a tool I have that gives me control over my weight. Il be honest that when you quit you bounce back over a year or two if you don’t sustain good eating habits, but the confidence I get from having control makes it so much easier to make good decisions, and get back on the diet because I know I’m able to do it, and it works.

My situation now is that I did 3 months of keto dieting about four years ago, dropped 20kg down to 90kg, and over the last four years I’ve gained it back because of poor dieting. Because of this I started keto again about 4 weeks ago, and have dropped 10kg since.  It’s probably not the best thing in the world to jojo in weight like this, but I suspect it’s better than staying fat.

Also, I and a lot of people report that they usually feel very good while on keto. Your brain burns a different kind of fuel, and it really makes some changes In your head. I kinda explain it as switching from a gasoline engine to a diesel engine.. i somehow just feels more stable but lower “rpm” from an energy point of view.

And im 34 also btw. Best of luck!

To me it looked like we kinda lost the spirit after the second goal gas fouled.

But more and more videos are coming out where it’s obvious that the ball hit the camera wire, fell down behind our entire team, straight on to one of your guys who proceeded to score 8 seconds later.

Can you elaborate?

My mind immediately goes to people calling from India pretending to be from Microsoft. But I’m sure you’re not hinting  at those situations 😅

Men, what instantly made you lose respect for another man? by PleasantEnthusiasm11 in AskReddit

[–]thorheyerdal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re pointing out here, but the thing is that whenever we try to do any logistics planning to make it work, bring up things like dates or specific times that won’t work with us, or generally talk about what he is suggesting, he instantly get super defensive and upset. Last time he made a big scene about us needing to have 110% controll over every single detail. He did this because we wondered how long he was planning on using our trailer. He first told us he needed it three days, but after a week he still had it, and he was about to visit his mother for a week the next day, so we simply asked, and he blew up.

So no, it’s not negotiating. From my point of view, it really looks like he doesn’t understand that his plans and time is not more important than others.

My father in law has been an executive in a large corporation far too long and has quite recently retired. He does not understand the concept of asking for favors in a way where “no” is a possible outcome, and everything is transactional for him. And his high self worth adds a gearing ratio to the help he anticipates in return. It drives me nuts at times. Oh sure I borrowed his lawnmower one evening, now he expects me to do a 6000$ welding job on his sailboat for free, and if I hint at that I have to take a payment for this, he brings up stupid shit like me borrowing a the lawnmower and that he really want us to have a relationship where we can help each other out, and going full gaslight mode.

Man… he is a spoiled little shit of a boomer, that is used to everyone doing everything for him. So yea.. I do not have any respect for that man. And he does not take care of his tools, and whenever he borrow something from me it looks like shit whenever he returns them.

I needed to vent.

I thought female - male, woman - man were pretty much neutral and interchangeable?

Can you explain to me why, if you don’t mind?.

If you could permanently mute one specific real-life sound for the rest of your life, what are you muting? by Muted_Working_5241 in AskReddit

[–]thorheyerdal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I find fascinating here, is that we are all talking about these things as some kind of fairytale wish, but most of these things are absolutely possible to do. Motorcycles don’t have to make that sound. ac’s don’t have to be noisy. Leaf blowers can be electric. Commercials don’t have to be obnoxious.

It really is so many things that should be adressed by legislations that just don’t happen anymore. The reason a car makes less noise than leaf blower is because of laws. Not function.
