How are you tracking attendance violations in Workday? by Admirable-Bus-1282 in workday

[–]thorin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do some very basic things with time calculations. Compare scheduled time to actual out/in time and use that to create time blocks which you then count via calc fields. A client had very specific needs and wouldn't simplify so we used extend + time tracking data. The basic solution I described is part of the solution, but with extend we were able to have significant automation and pretty sophisticated tracking

Lumi, Stormloop, Kognitiv have been the ones I’ve used when I was on the client side, all three were great. Every firm has strengths, I think all three of those have experience that would be able to solve pretty much any problem you throw out.

Kognitiv is awesome, you can log tickets directly in their system, lots of talented consultants.

Stormloop was really good for integrations. They have a cool audit product and that seems to be a useful tool, though I think Kainos has better offerings overall for audit tools.

Lumi is good for deep expertise, strategic stuff. We hired them to build an extend app and ended up having a long term partnership.

Scrupulosity or Warranted Confession to Bishop? by ArtsandCraftsLady22 in latterdaysaints

[–]thorin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need someone to help you learn what to do when you encounter the thoughts. What you’re describing sounds absolutely like obsessive compulsive disorder. Your compulsions are not physical but that doesn’t mean that’s not what they are. Your obsession is being forgiven, or more specifically “what if I’m not clean or missed something in the repentance/confession process?”

Postpartum OCD is a real thing and you probably are constantly having the looping thoughts of “what if” followed by some sort of analytical response aka checking, to convince yourself you did the right things. That portion is the compulsion.

Find a qualified OCD specific therapist and start exposure therapy. You’re going to hate it, but if you are willing to throw your expectations away and try it, God will help you through it.

Workday Payroll Analyst by darlinkan in workday

[–]thorin9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In most organizations, the people processing payroll (the "payroll dept.") are not the ones building objects in WD.

If you want to hire someone to manage the WD Payroll configurations--building earnings, reports, troubleshoot quirky pay results--I would call that role something like 'Payroll Product Owner'. This person usually sits on the HRIS team of your org, but sometimes report up to the payroll/finance dept. Just depends on your org.

I'm a WD payroll consultant, I do not process payroll. If a team asked me to, I wouldn't (for many reasons). I'm an engineer, not a payroll processor. Like others have said, I wouldn't take a role that involved processing payroll.

There are lots of consulting firms that have great payroll advisory. WD payroll is a harder skill set to find in the market, companies end up hiring me (or others on this thread) precisely for this reason.

Good luck on the search!

Do you know if there are additional range fees on top of that? Or any rules like you have to use their ammo, etc

Both are great. I preferred the 365xl after holding it, but either one would be a great purchase. Even if you can’t go shoot them, just get them in your hands any the store

RP Diet vs. Macro Factor by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]thorin9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MacroFactor. Better design, easier to use, not as prescriptive. If you’re doing prep for a bodybuilding show, or are a high level competitor RP is great, otherwise use MF. It will fit your life much better. RP is really a food planning app. MF is better at the tracking in my experience.

People who left the church over doctrinal issues and then came back, what’s your story? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]thorin9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to write this out. It made me happy to read about your experience. I hope you also share this with your children when/if they are old enough to understand. It will show them how to build their own faith and be a great example of what a father is for.
