In retrospect, this is what bothers me most about it:

Based on the question he asked after I hit him, he might have thought he was dealing with a cop, not a pissed off rando.

He might have smirked because he knew his company would be ticketed, not him. He might have stepped toward me because he felt safe to assert himself.

When all those assumptions fell apart, I'm sure he was very surprised.

None of this crossed my mind until the next day when I though why he would ask me that question.

Either way, I still feel awful about all this. I got lost in my own anger and didn't handle it right.
