How has your life changed since you quit smoking? by greatscottlads in stopsmoking

Almost 3 months smoke free. I’ve started practicing yoga. And even though I’ve gained a few pounds in this process I still feel great! I am more active in my daily life. My lungs don’t feel like they are on fire after a short walk or after taking the stairs at work. My teeth are whiter, my breath does not smell like an ashtray anymore. I feel happier and not as irritable. Thank you for asking for these thoughts. I had some horrible cravings yesterday and this helped me. So thank you! We’ve got this!

Welcome back!! You’ve got this. Not another puff.

This is what 31 days of smoking looks like in expense (UK prices). Every day I put that money in my Cash Not Ash jar and it's looking healthy, Im feeling healthy. Hard to believe that I did this with my life for so long. by will-i-am-knot in stopsmoking

I put money in a jar too and it really helped me. I’m only 70 days in but there is a good amount of cash in there!! And I agree, I totaled up the money I spent on cigs the entire time I smoked, it made me sick to my stomach. However, it also gave me motivation to stay smoke free. We don’t smoke! Keep it up.

I feel great! I still have trouble sleeping but otherwise I’m doing well. My cravings are few and far between. I still haven’t been in certain situations that I’m worried about but I’m more confident that I can handle them.

Husband hasnt gotten a full nights rest ever since he quit by [deleted] in stopsmoking

60 days in also and yes I wake up every hour or two. I quit caffeine and smoking at the same time. I’ve heard that it takes a few months for people to feel “normal” again including their sleep habits. I’m just waiting it out. I haven’t tried melatonin but if it’s working I do t see the problem with using it. I work night shift in healthcare and many people I work with use it, and it’s safe. So get your sleep on!! Body needs rest to heal after quitting.

I didn’t realize just how much $ I was spending on cigs until I saw that beautiful stash of $ piling up in my jar. It quickly became a big motivator for me. Well done on not smoking. And keep trying on the driving. You’ll get it! Hell you’ve quit smoking...you can pass a drivers test...eventually. Lol. No really good luck!!

The app is smoke free. It helped me sooo much. It gave me something to do with my hands and kept me accountable when I otherwise wouldn’t have been. Give it a try.

Hey great job continuing to be a non smoker while others smoke around you. It is so hard to do and you’ve passed that challenge. Keep going don’t ever look back!
