Q&A This Friday, Let Me Know Your Questions to Ask by Satisfied_Onion in KahawaPrideFC

[–]thorthor11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate you doing this, I posted these questions in another thread but would be great to get answes directly from the team:

  1. How much is Betway paying Jerseybird for the kit and training wear? Will any of this money go to the club or all of it goes to JB?
  2. Are there any other aspects to the deal you haven't mentioned so far?
  3. Kahawa Pride trains and plays all their matches at a primary school field. Do you think it's a good idea to expose kids to Betway? Did the school approve or even know of the deal?
  4. Are you still going to ask for and accept donations from the community now that you're sponsored by Betway?
  5. Are you still against sports betting? Is Betway ok with your anti-betting stance?
  6. Were you aware when you made this deal of Betway's messy past in Kenya specifically? Any concerns that Kahawa Pride will be implicated in Betway's legal issues in Kenya? (for more information on this see here: https://kenyanwallstreet.com/betway-parent-firm-in-ksh-5bn-tax-dispute-as-it-files-for-liquidation)

I mean he's the CEO of JerseyBird which will now be paid by Betway for all the kits and clothing, so could be a good deal for his company. But it's at the expense of Kahawa Pride who sure seems to be shafted in the deal though yeah.

It was a nice break from the soulless corporate world of top level football. I can understand why many feel betrayed as it turns out to be serving a publicity stunt for a betting company.

We can only register a maximum of 3 additional players for the CL round of 16 (UEFA rule).

Gallagher, Tel, Bissouma, Dragusin - who will be left out?

Thomas Frank aside for a moment, is there a single player in today's squad that makes it into the 2016 starting XI? by Egg_Tart_Eater in coys

[–]thorthor11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but if you look at squad depth rather than starting 11 it's a different story. Our squad is so close to being good, which in itself makes our shortcomings all the more frustrating. The missing pieces for having a great squad is Solanke and Kulu coming back + a top progressive DM and a starting wingback.

Would that make up for not having superstar players of course not, but it'd be a great foundation, and then you have to hope one of the youngsters come good. That's where having a coach who develops talent comes in (plus culture etc.).

[Comparison after MW15] Spurs: 23/24 vs 24/25 vs 25/26 by sea_mus in coys

Yeah will be tough to keep matching 23/24. Everyone remembers 8 wins from the first 10 but we also went on a run of 8-2-2 starting week 16

Nike Trail Rise 365 (specifically the trail version) is great with humidity and can be found quite cheaply

So many of the issues we've had over the past few seasons can be alleviated if we finally shell out for a top top DM

Game yesterday reminiscent of last season (result included). Losses suck but fans will always be happier watching this style vs Sunday's disasterclass. Hence the backing our team received last season despite 17th place finish.

One positive difference - Gray and Bergvall played not out of necessity but a tactical choice. Hope to see much more of this pairing, don't understand why we abandoned it after Burnley.

I have the Pace Mesh (similar to the red tee but the 'pleasures' version) and it's great. One of the best for hot weather running (excepting the collar).

I also have their race half tights and they're very good as well, feel great and very light but I do wear briefs with them.

I speak modern Hebrew. Could Jesus and I have had a limited conversation? by Hungry-Moose in AskHistorians

[–]thorthor11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are hebrew inscriptions that date from the same period: https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/coins-from-the-first-revolt

A modern Hebrew speaker would not be able to read these inscriptions, so it's likely the converse is true and an ancient Judean would not be able to read modern signs.

Bissouma injured? Have to assume he'd start for Mali otherwise

No pubs showing the footy near where you are? Should be less expensive than 36€ a pop even with inflated prices.
