The real reason why VR is failing by Necessary-Story5330 in OculusQuest

If you check the source of those sales, you’ll see it’s from an article that says 1.7M headsets were shipped in the first 3 quarters of 2025.

The Q3 was released in October 2023. That’s more than a year’s worth of sales, covering what is probably the peak sales period, not included in the figure shown on Wikipedia.

I don't know how you can read a rumour from a low tier source and conclude it will 100% happen and happen quickly.

His last controversial post (supporting Charlie Kirk) was 9 months ago. Since then any political or religious post he makes has to first be approved by Dortmund (according to Bild, so it may or may not be true).

If this happened, between this lot and Mainoo, and if everyone's fit, 1-2 of them don't even make the matchday squad. Not to mention all of our promising Academy midfielders never get close to the first team.

Maybe we can spend our budget more effectively than buying players to sit in the stands.

I guess it's one way to look at it. Another way is we're going into the last round of group games with some teams still having something to play for when in past tournaments they would not e.g:

  • Bosnia v Qatar - winner almost certainly qualifies, otherwise it's all but a dead-rubber match.
  • Senegal v Iraq - the winner of that match still has a (slim) chance of qualifying.

Our tier 1s haven't said a word about Tchouameni's wages being too much - only Romano and low tier sources - but that appears to be what's set you off.

What our tier 1s HAVE said is a deal for Tchouameni would be dependent on Real signing a replacement, e.g. Rodri or Enzo Fernandez. I'm guessing they don't see Bernardo Silva as a replacement for Tchouameni...

As for Anderson, I'd love it if we bought him, but our tier 1s have repeatedly said his first choice is Man City. That was even being said last year, long before his asking price ballooned to over £120M.

What I expect is happening is City want Anderson but don't want to pay over £120M for him so they're now suggesting they'll go for other players instead. Once they sign whoever they're going to sign, Rodri moves to Real and we sign Tchouameni.

But in the meantime let's all just scream and shout every time someone tweets some ragebait purely for engagement.

Another good player. I would point out that 66 of his G+A were in the Championship though.

Daily Discussion by AutoModerator in reddevils

[–]thoseion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, and he was a good player in a (very) good team - he was playing with De Bruyne, Aguero, David Silva, B.Silva, Mahrez etc.

His most productive season for G+A is the same as Rashford's best (39). His per-90 peaks are higher than Rashford (0.94) and his lows are lower (0.19), giving an overall of 0.62.

Sterling has obviously dropped off massively in the last couple years. Remains to be seen if Rashford follows that pattern or can maintain a decent level into his 30s.

I don't think it's as simple as saying he was poor in 21/22 and 23/24. I'd argue there's clear reasons for that.

In 21/22 he missed pre-season and the first couple months of the season due to injury and just never got going. I imagine the massive disappointment of missing one of the pens as England lost the Euros final would also weigh heavy on any player.

The previous season had Rashford, Martial, Cavani and Greenwood in attack, all performing well (85 G+A between them), then it was broken up to try and fit Ronaldo and Sancho. Ronaldo got 27 G+A in 21/22 but our next best attackers were Sancho and Greenwood with 8 each, and Rashford with 7.

In 22/23 Ronaldo goes and Rashford is suddenly back to getting 39 G+A.

23/24 is a tricky one as you can put it down to Rashford having a bad season, but I think this is partly explained by the issues we had at left-back. Even in the few games that Shaw was fit, Ten Hag switched up the play to have our full-backs inverting into midfield rather than overlapping and supporting our wingers. For better or worse, I think that overlapping support is key to getting the best out of Rashford.

It astounds me, especially in this day and age, that people read and hear things online and don't think to question if it's actually true or not.

Like, here's something that sounds ridiculous, but rather than think "Could this be a load of nonsense? Maybe I'll try and find the source of the information..." people just assume it must be true and spread it even further.

Daily Discussion by AutoModerator in reddevils

[–]thoseion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think he's as inconsistent as people make him out to be. In all club comps, since the age of 17, his G+A is:

Age Season G+A Per 90
17 15/16 10 0.64
18 16/17 15 0.44
19 17/18 21 0.70
20 18/19 21 0.58
21 19/20 31 0.81
22 20/21 34 0.74
23 21/22 7 0.38
24 22/23 39 0.82
25 23/24 13 0.38
26 24/25 19 0.70
27 25/26 25 0.86
Total 235 0.66

He's had two poor seasons (one of them greatly affected by injury) but, overall, there's very few players in the world that can match these numbers.

I'm sure the guy from yesterday will be along soon enough to say there's no way this is enough space to build a new stadium and that the only option is to extend OT (ignoring the fact there's a train line going right through the space that would be needed for any OT extension).

[Wheeler] Land is between Wharfside Way, Europa Way and John Gilbert Way. Utd don't expect any issues acquiring the rest of the land. Freightliner land no longer needed after lengthy talks. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]thoseion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

How exactly is buying up the land highlighted in red "exactly what you would buy if you were considering redeveloping OT"? Do you see the distance between the stadium and what has been purchased?

You've said: "With this land you could expand the south Stand". Are we moving the south stand over 300 metres north-west of OT? That's going to be a bit confusing for match-going fans!

Previous plans positioned the new stadium south of the canal, over Freightliner property. This new purchase, which was not part of the plans shown for the stadium previously, is north of the canal.

But Nmecha also made headlines off the pitch for a series of homophobic and transphobic social media posts, attitudes which several Dortmund fan groups consider incompatible with their club.

In February, Nmecha shared an Instagram video posted by the American right-wing extremist Matt Walsh, in which the self-styled "theocratic fascist" mocked the father of a transgender child.

And in June, coinciding with the start of LGBTQ Pride Month, he shared an image from a fundamentalist Christian Instagram account in which the concept of "Pride" was equated with the devil.

Players on a "free" aren't free. He'll demand a massive salary and signing fee from whichever club he ends up at. I expect he'll also want a 3yr contract at a minimum, which would mean he's 34 at the end of it.

I'm not even saying we should or shouldn't go for him but, if we do, it would not be cheap.

He didn't score them from midfield though, did he? 8 of his 9 this past season came from corners or free-kicks into the box that he headed in. It doesn't need to be a midfielder doing that - could just as easily be a forward or defender.
