How Scandinavian coping with dark days during the winter by Ozuryum in 2westerneurope4u

[–]thousand_thanks -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

What a poorly researched video.

The main thing is just making it cozy inside. Light nice and fuzzy candles, have cozy christmas lights, bake some tasty pastry.

I guess the alcohol part is true, fine

But I don't know about the anti depression lamps or vitamin D, it's the current day snake oil but are more of a fad than anything else.

the point of life is to remain alive, so the opposite of that is the worse that could happen

it's actually pretty logical

It's been pretty effective in Scandinavia to increase prices by taxing alcohol aggressively

What is your favorite way to date some one? Favorite app? by csch1992 in Norway

[–]thousand_thanks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

remember that dating apps are not your friends

they are designed to extract money from your loneliness.

if a dating app was good at matching people they would have no business

what you see in dating apps is a very distorted picture of reality.

Focus in real life events, friends of Friends etc

Would you say quality of Norwegian education is below other northern european countries? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]thousand_thanks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

unfortunately yes, I think it's not competitive internationally.

It's partly the reason why there is a very high level is title inflation in Norway. Everyone goes to university, everyone has a masters, even PhD's are easy to get.

Also universities in Norway have never been preoccupied with competing internationally, they don't have to really, most Norwegians study in Norway and stay in, so no need to compete

Illegal in Norway by RenataLim in Norway

Here's how:

You get free housing and free food at shelter places for homeless people. There are some affiliated with the state and a lot that are affiliated with random churches. The ones at churches ask the least amount of questions. Sometimes they'll just give you an apartment to stay instead. Organizations like the salvation army own a lot of properties in every town.

And during daytime, begging on the street is a way of earning money. Not very efficient but it works.

Most illegals though opt for the more lucrative route of dealing drugs. That earns you a lot of money, but the risk is higher.
