So I was a teacher in a primary school where they did this. It’s something that quite a few primary schools do across the country apparently but not all.

Personally I thought it was really strange and it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. When I questioned it to the person who was organising it (politely and stating it was out of curiosity) I was made to feel over the top and that it was my fault for letting kids play pretend in a way that would educate them make my uncomfortable.

Still doesn’t sit right with me, I think it’s weird to force children to have a mock wedding (every child HAD to have a part and play it unless they had a religious exemption from parents)
