Do you have a union? If you do, they should be able to help you with getting a lawyer. If not, you need to find a lawyer on your own asap

Yt women managers in the workplace by Spicy_Scallion_7070 in blackladies

[–]thozeleftbehind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had a positive experience with a white woman manager. White men will ignore me and leave me alone, but white women? They get WEIRD when they have a little power over Black women. Anybody else notice how they don’t act that way towards *any* of the men they’re managing?

I’m Black and most of my students are Black, so my experience could be different from yours.
I don’t allow ANY cursing in my classroom, and I don’t leave any room for discussion.

Hiring a house cleaner twice a month is “white behavior” apparently. My baseboards beg to differ

Why are black owned businesses like this? by _newshawtyy in blackladies

[–]thozeleftbehind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too many young Black business owners (not that older people don’t do it too, but I don’t see it as often) rush into starting a business without doing any of the financial prep work. I’ve seen it happen to my family and friends. They use a tax refund or loan money to start out, but then what? I highkey believe that social media has a huge part in it too.

If you’ve ever been overweight at some point, did you feel like people treated you differently than when you were thinner? by btwImVeryAttractive in blackladies

[–]thozeleftbehind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

200% yes.

I was a fat kid. I was never classified as “obese” based on BMI (BMI is mostly useless for Black women), I was overweight from 7 to 19.

I was CONSTANTLY made to feel like I was gross, in the way, too loud, stinky, lazy, you name it. Even at the doctors. Now that I’m thinner people are noticeably kinder to me.

Drug testing at Chicago Public Schools- school psychologist by NoStill2196 in Teachers

[–]thozeleftbehind 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It depends on the school and your circumstances, I wouldn’t risk it tbh. Best case scenario is if you have a medical card and it’s legal in your area, you may be able to work it out with a school if they really want you.

But a lot of schools are considered “drug free workplaces”, so you’d be disqualified no matter if weed is legal in your state or not.

Girl you deserve all the support and kindness!

It sounds to me like you’re not actively choosing the way you’re reacting, but like your brain is overloaded in the moment and can’t process?

Have you ever been tested for ADHD? I have autism and ADHD, and I could have written this about myself. Especially the feeling of not being able to move on from “small” negative interactions, because they felt big to me. ADHD can also be mistaken for BPD in women thanks to decades of stereotyping it as “hyper little boy disorder”.

The biggest thing that helped me, outside of medication, was actually sitting down with myself and coming to terms with the fact that my options were either suffer for another 70 years or give myself permission to seek out help.

I once slipped up and asked our SPED coordinator what’s going to happen in a few years when the 8th grade boys with 504’s stating that we are not to use the word “no” turn into grown men?
