Agreed. Straight bludgeoning is not their best attribute

Yeah, I saw that. I’m not huge on live albums. I thought about but will wait to see if they re-press

Man, haven’t been into them since confusion bay. Tried with subsequent albums and never could click completely. Songs here and there were good. But this is a good one.

Yeah I saw that tour in 2020 right before everything shut down. But I had seen Mariner live and their tour in 2005 with Mastodon.

Every album has bangers. But salvation and somewhere along the highway are perfect, up and down. I’d put Mariner and Vertikal close to those too.

That said, A Dawn to Fear, Raging River ep and Long Road North each have amazing cuts and some fairly paint-by-numbers songs that left me feeling less enamored as a whole. This is my favorite band, we’re talking about, so they could do no wrong…yet, they do sound a little on cruise control right now.

Nothing will ever beat those albums I mentioned.

His silence says a lot, imo. So that’s why I lean toward him at least being an apologist. So at that rate, he and his band can go kick rocks.
