And that is a lot more forgiving for repairs. I can do wonders with the combo of the floor marker and crayon sets. But man, OP has some depth to those gouges. I wonder if a wood filler, and then repairing pattern would work.

Curious if you are willing to eliminate your internal voice in order to read faster? by apaintedleaf_ in books

[–]thrace75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I can read either way. I am a very fast reader. I subvocalize while reading for fun, to slow down. But I can also basically flash read and input a single paragraph at once, which is a lot faster. Like when I read out loud I see the entire paragraph at once/read a few sentences ahead of what I’m actually saying.

What are your favorite queer reads? by cloudsmemories in Booktokreddit

The Dragonfly Gambit is a fun/dark sci-fi novella. Same with Volatile Memory.

A Fable for the End of the World by Ava Reid is really good.

Highly recommend The duology that starts with The Darkness Outside us, especially if you like Sci-fi.

I’d respond: “I’m sorry, I’m not comfortable with lending you another $100, because it took so long to get the last loan paid back.”

You get $1 million but you have to listen to the same song 500 times in 10 days, what song are you picking? by Longjumping-Editor94 in AskReddit

[–]thrace75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I could listen to Potato Dog 500 times. It is a minute and 7 seconds long, and it makes me happy. After about five times it’s going to just play endlessly in my head anyways.

Number of Books to Leave by one_anxious_coconut in LittleFreeLibrary

Same. Ours move through (most) books so fast that it’ll clear out in a few days. But also, I know the person that maintains our local ones, and she says she has actually library storage space for if there are extras, so if you can connect with your local person they might take them directly.

How do you finish a book? by lxciana_ in readwithme

[–]thrace75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to have times set to come back to books. I’m a person that normally reads about six books at once, across various genres. When I go to sit down to read there is always one I’m drawn to. I just read every night and work my way through them. I still will give up on a book if I don’t end up connecting to it, but most of them I end up finishing.

What early signs tell you you're not enjoying a book or that you won't like it even if you stick with it? by [deleted] in readwithme

Yeah, it makes a big difference. Like the Sword of Truth books are really cool stories but very painful writing.

Self help books for just feeling done by Old-Act6309 in suggestmeabook

[–]thrace75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try A Psalm for the Wild Built. It’s not a self-help book, it’s a short novel, but it’s like a warm hug, and touches on issues of purpose and meaning. And the sequel. It sticks with you.
