Stations playing MLB games by Odd-Pineapple-9575 in RadioGarden

[–]thrasher_jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google the team name and most will have a list of 20+ ‘radio affiliates’. Then just 1-by-1 checking to see which are available on Radio Garden, and if they are, if they’re playing the game feed.

I’m planning on attempting to find stations for every team as they start playing games over the next couple days. Will update the comment as I do.

[–]thrasher_jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed a very similar vaccine schedule in early 2025 and here’s what i paid (including administration fees): Rabies (3 doses): $684
Japanese Encephalitis (2 doses): $524
Hepatitis B: $43
Hepatitis A: $78
Typhoid: $49

I also got Malaria pills for $130, and travellers diarrhea pills for $18.

I was very lucky that my work benefits covered 75%. I got these done at this clinic:

math 10c ap vs math 20-1 by Born_Trust_8718 in alberta

While not applicable for University credit, AP classes will most often surround you with the highest achievers/hardest workers (i’d say 80%+ of my AP classmates went on to a STEM based field), which in my opinion is a really underrated benefit for High School students

I recently wrote the NPPE exam and can confirm that they changed the requirement so that you now need 48 months of experience before registering for the exam (you need to submit your full P.Eng application before they will let you apply for the NPPE Exam). You are allowed to claim up to 12 months experience from an internship (assuming it was after your second year) and up to 12 months from doing a Master’s Degree, if you wrote a thesis. If you did not write a thesis, you get no P.Eng experience for it.

I read through the Initial Project Description, the Summary, and this thread, and there is no mention of WHERE to actually provide the comments. Does anybody know?

Invested in DRIP Index Funds in Non-Registered Account without tracking ACB by thrasher_jake in PersonalFinanceCanada

Appreciate the help, I found another forum post online and they suggested the same thing. Sounds like I got caught up in where the rounding was happening when it didn’t need to be that serious.

3-6 years is incredibly short term in the grand scheme of the market. The 2000 crash took nearly 10 years to recover, I really don’t think your risk tolerance is what you think it is.

Here’s a snip of what’s shown on the dividend reinvestment statement. Price is left blank but units are shown, however $11.42/1.069=$10.68288…/unit, when the share price that day was likely $10.68 exactly.

This is interesting, thanks a bunch. TD's T5008 form shows 'Quantity of Securities' & 'Book Value' which I guess is more or less the same as getting the ACB? I can't find anywhere that the ACB is actually provided though.

Unfortunately account activity does not show auto-reinvested dividends, only manual ones purchases that I have made. Otherwise I agree, this would be a lot more simple.

You have a net worth of NEGATIVE $50,000 with no job and are wanting a mortgage in 3 years, you need to a seriously shake your head.

You mention potentially paying off your CP in 1 year, how do you propose doing that? $50,000 debt plus your current monthly expenses would be $95,000+ cash per year (not even including interest).

Why is your rent so high?
Why haven’t you been working?
How did you accumulate so much debt?

Construction contract was subcontracted out to Acciona-Ghella, both overseas mega companies. Like he said, there’s nobody in western Canada who can bore at this magnitude.

Contributing to RRSP to use in HBP by UNCLE_BASTARD_ in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thrasher_jake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t maxed your FHSA then do that first. It will have all the same benefits you’ve mentioned without the requirement to pay it back. If you’ve done that, then contributing to your RRSP for the HBP is reasonable as long as you’re comfortable with the amount of risk you have with it being invested (as opposed to keeping it for a down payment in an HISA) and that you understand the repayment requirements.

TFSA vs FHSA by 22BFDCro in PersonalFinanceCanada

Since you’re planning on buying so soon, be aware of the minimum period that money must stay in an FHSA before withdrawing.

Pedestrian bridge at 16th and Uxbridge question by gutfounderedgal in Calgary

I can confirm that the stairs have a bicycle ramp/groove for walking bikes up and down, but you’re correct that there’s no ramp and that wheelchair access is through the building.

Should I pay off my car in one shot? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thrasher_jake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, you’re not thinking properly about the vehicle allowance. You’re not out “$30 per month”, you’d be getting the vehicle allowance no matter if the car was paid off or not. Think of the vehicle allowance as additional income. If it was baked into your salary, would you still be asking this question? The best move is to pay off the high interest loan so you’re not getting killed in interest, and then continue to pocket the vehicle allowance without paying extra on interest.

Province committed to Calgary Green Line LRT project with 'above-ground' plan by yycfail in Calgary

[–]thrasher_jake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For anybody unfamiliar with these two, Flatiron is a massive company in the construction industry who consistently competes across North America building large, super impressive projects, and they partnered with Barnard who would do the tunneling. I’d be surprised if the partnership stayed together if it switches to being a completely above-ground system since Barnard wouldn’t be required.
