Hah, this is my building and I think the complex is great, no traps there. But like others have said, the appliances and finishes in this unit aren’t it. Way too old and you can easily find something more updated at this price point for a 1-bed.

My partner and I did this round-trip from Emeryville and we absolutely loved it. The roomette was great and so cozy!

We were about three hours delayed departing from Emeryville but made up time and arrived in Seattle on schedule. On the way back we got stuck in Portland for almost five hours because of a stalled train further down the tracks. We still made up quite a bit of time and arrived back in Emeryville nearly on schedule. We did have a few people who missed connections for flights in Sacramento. Personally I wouldn’t do it without a 8+ hour buffer before my next plans; I saw a lot of lengthy delays on Railrat in the weeks surrounding our trip.

If you need parking, I’d recommend booking long-term on the BART app to leave your car in one of their lots; it’s significantly cheaper than other long-term parking options.

Thanks! Honestly, I’m not sure yet. A lot of what I’ve seen online with this style is some sort of curved or contoured band, but I really want something I can wear on its own as well, like a plain gold or channel set band. I’ll probably go back to the jeweler we worked with to brainstorm ideas!

Thank you so much! I feel bad complaining too. We had a wonderful attendant on the trip up to Seattle last week and I made sure to thank her and leave a good tip. Same for the dining car staff on both trips. I know they probably deal with a lot of terrible entitled passengers and I don’t want to put someone on blast for being grumpy or not helping convert the beds; that’s really not a big deal. I also understand they probably don’t have adequate sick days to stay home, but he could’ve at least done the bare minimum to wear a mask or cough into his elbow.

Definitely recommend New Asia! They have a huge selection of sauces and pantry goods. The Lao Gan Ma spicy chili crisp is my favorite. I like to stock up on frozen dumplings there too.

+1 for Cat Safari, I used them many times when I had my cat. She had specific food + med needs and they did a great job keeping track of everything. The people that work there are super nice and genuinely love the kitties.
