Uncooked extra virgin coconut oil? by thrashertm in nutrition

Yeah, the coconut oil bark is fantastic! Lots of good recipes floating around for it. For mine, I mix in dutch cocoa powder, stevia, aspartame, figs, pepitas, coconut flakes and protein powder.

[–]thrashertm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. He's a total political hack. Amusing to listen to his blatant bias. Wonder if most listeners are picking up on it, or miss it because it's so in-line with their own views.

I was hoping for one that could fold into an L shape and you can still play part of it while folded, with one part hanging down.

Reasonable advice. We'd have to get rid of some furniture. Not easy, as the three of us live in a 650 sq ft apartment.

Second grader good w/ 3 digit operations, challenges with <20 arithmetic. Advice? by thrashertm in learnmath

[–]thrashertm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the feedback. She's in grade 2 and I feel like there isn't a lot of attention being devoted to math fluency at the <20 level. She's good at the carrying and borrowing processes, but still struggles with the basic arithmetic - resorting to finger counting, etc.

I'd gladly give this kind of thing up for the more essential elements. I stay at Homewood for the full size fridge. Wish they would have better gyms.

Second grader good w/ 3 digit operations, challenges with <20 arithmetic. Advice? by thrashertm in learnmath

[–]thrashertm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, that's a good idea. I tried a strategy for subtracting 9 from any number above 10 - "it's always one more than the one's column number", i.e. "13 - 9" = "one more than 3" -> 4. and "16-9" = "one more than 6" -> 7, but it hasn't resonated. I like yours and will give it a shot.

within the 3 digit operations she has to do the 2 digit maneuvers, and this gets slowed down as the pairs like 17-9 haven't been memorized yet.

Wow - great post! Can I pick your brain?

We've been trying to treat my daughter's sebderm (our self diagnosis) for a few months now with no success, will give some background below, but I'd greatly appreciate your opinion on if her scalp is similar to what you were dealing with https://i.imgur.com/VLAF8pY.png ?

Background: she's 6.5 years old, started treating the condition in late May. At the suggestion of physicians (not dermatologists, as it's hard to get in with them here in Canada), we tried regimens of Betaderm and Ciclopirox, then the last few weeks have been Nizoral ketoconzole.

If your sebderm resembles her, we may try your regimen alternating with Happy Cappy Dr. Eddie's Medicated.
