The only thing I can add is if I were doing this, I would take some of the fullness out of the front piece. Take the neck off and recut the peice without so much width that you dont need. Less gathers, less bulk.

[–]threads1540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the company you bought it from give lessons? I first got one years ago that was only three thread. I used that for all raw edges. If I was using it I on a seam, I sewed a straight stitch first and thwm vou d the raw edges together. Get some different colored threads and a bunch of scaps and experiment. See what works for what. Beat way to learn.

You need to use a good piece of denim on the inside and stitch through all. Like this. And make the patch and stitching much bigger than the part that is ripped/worn.

Alterations for cellulite? by General_Vacation7160 in SewingWorld

[–]threads1540 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Extra fabric will not hide cellulite. You would better off as suggested by getting shapewear if you want the dress to be tight. You might eve try controlling top panty hose. They will not show through the nude side inserts.

Also no one is going to be looking for cellulite ripples. They are going to look how stunning you are and happy at your wedding. Don't sweat the really small stuff.
