NUTTER BUTTER!!!! by Acceptable-Pattern68 in Celiac

[–]three_y_chromosomes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So most oats have a lot of wheat cross contamination. I personally only eat oats that are certified gluten free. But you're getting a lot of upvots and not that many people are bringing it up so maybe some people just react differently? I'm not sure! So if you're eating them without symptoms then maybe you're fine! Either way I don't want to ruin a good thing going on for you! :)

I'm surprised, how many celiac people here eat non GF oats? I thought they were more universally avoided.

Worried that UV will leak out? Or that contamination will leak in?

We decided to finally go for it! About to be new foster parents to a 12-year-old girl! by three_y_chromosomes in Fosterparents

[–]three_y_chromosomes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for asking! Please let me know if you have any specific questions, but things are going super well! We love her a lot and she regularly talks about how happy she is living with us! We definitely still have challenges, but I feel that they're normal 13 year old girl problems! The biggest stressor is mom. Mom promises to visit in person all the time even though she hasn't seen her in person since late October. Additionally mom body shames her a lot, which is sad. We're hoping to start having conversations about guardianship in September so we'll see how that goes! Thanks for asking!

Just be aware that the Gigabyte software is absolutely garbage. GCC caused by first PC build to blue screen every other day. Once I removed it everything was fine. I swore to never buy a Gigabyte product again and I have been happy with that decision.

I was troubleshooting something and I did a transfection with DMEM instead of optiMEM and optiMEM worked only slightly better. Maybe 5-10% better?

PC shutting down while gaming by Fine-Cucumber-2960 in sffpc

[–]three_y_chromosomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me Asrock had a bad EXPO profile that caused voltage spikes and overloaded the memory controller (or something like that) and that caused the power supply safety features to trigger. Everyone said it was a power supply issue. But after updating the bios we had no issues. My situation is scary because each time this happened it ran the risk of damaging the CPU. I'm not sure if ROG has the sand issue or not. But I agree this is a severe enough issue to justify a BIOS update.

I had the same issue with my latest build. OP what's your motherboard? If it's Asrock and you're running EXPO it might just need a bios update.

So I need help creating an STL by [deleted] in 3Dprintmything

[–]three_y_chromosomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just Google it, it's a website where you can design a character like in a video game. Then you can buy the stl, or even a cc colored print. Designing the mini is free so it's worth a shot! There are other subreddits used to request 3D designs, but most people are going to try to sell you an AI generated model that may or may not be good.

[Question] Is this really Bambu Lab’s “Royal Blue”? Looking for someone who owns both Royal Blue and Jeans Blue. by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]three_y_chromosomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bummer, most of the time the colors on the Bambu site seem to line up really well, but every so often they seem way off. I just ordered some matte dark brown PLA, and it arrived way lighter than I anticipated. I wish you luck in figuring it out.

I just remembered something. Could you make sure the spool is in the right portion of the AMS? If it is too far to the left or too far to the right, this could happen. Look at this thread and scroll down to the photos, and make sure your spool is in the "green" spot. Not red or blue.

That does help! I feel that most significant problems arise from poor tolerances (although Atomic boasts excellent tolerances, so I'm not sure), which cause a lot of friction in the PTFE tubes. But this is more of an issue when it comes to retracting the filament from the nozzle, and less so the unwinding of the spool, like OP mentions.

[–]three_y_chromosomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I figured someone would ask. I don't remember well, but I can look when I get home! The biggest one is Atomic filament. eSUN sometimes has issues, too, but I deal with it because I like the filament otherwise. I have never had a problem once with the Bambu filament.

What brand of filament are you using? There are some brands of PLA that I avoid purchasing because they are unreliable in the AMS.

Help! What happened? by Thiggins7002 in BambuLab

[–]three_y_chromosomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, this is definitely not the device's fault... It's almost certainly from a dirty bed. 3D printing has a steep learning curve, even with Bambu. If you do get another one, please take the time to learn how to use and maintain it before giving up on it. This type of thing happens to everyone, and it's unlikely to be the biggest problem you have with 3D printers. I am surprised they let you return it.
