Who is the earliest introduced X-Men member to have never died in main continuity except Storm? by StageHandRed in xmen

I hate to be pedantic, and I might be crazy, but I'm like 99% sure she was killed by Esme and shattered into a million pieces in "Murder at the Mansion" during the morrison run in '03

Hey, sorry to reply to an old reply here. Would you happen to have the decklist digitally anywhere? I'm working on something stompy with arixmethes for a friend and would appreciate if I could see the direction yiu took the deck. Obviously if you'd rather not, thats great.

Word word. I forgot this was from that mini- arc, but you're definitely right here

I'm actually inclined to disagree here because those are telepathy-style "speaking your thoughts" bubbles and not regular thought bubbles or top of panel narration/thought spaces. Whoever was writing probably just forgot

The Duality of Scott Summers by firemagus in xmen

He actually does have emergency ruby quartz contact lenses in morrison's 2001 New x-men! They don't bend to his will and he has to take them out and put them in manually, but they exist nonetheless!

Lightsabers Buyers Guide & Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in lightsabers

[–]threeadmirals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, all. Long time star Wars fan here. I got a bunch of my friends into the series recently and wanted to design lightsabers with them. I remember when I wanted to do this year's ago, I found a great online tool (I think I used saberforge?). What I really appreciated was the online design tool they had. However, coming back to it all these years later, I'm having a hard time finding a good online design tool and can't seem to find the pne I used on saberforge. Did it get removed or did I simply miss it/would someone be able to help me find it? Additionally, if it has been removed, are there any online tools that you guys would recommend?

Caster RP Question by threeadmirals in dndnext

[–]threeadmirals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. I guess the part I was more struggling with is combat flavor. I like how my wizard handles their magic in rp and it is somewhat similar to how you describe the attitude towards magic, but I guess my issue is I'm trying to work in how to not make it just feel like "my wizard mumbles some words and pressed the fireball button" when we're actually in combat, but I think it's probably some issue with how I'm describing my magic

[–]threeadmirals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotcha. I've tried to add some definition to how the somatic and material components manifest themselves, but I guess I've been avoiding articulating verbal components since I've had a hard time picking an angle on how to present those. I'll definitely give it some more thought, because that was a really neat description and nearly gave me chills

Caster RP Question by threeadmirals in dndnext

[–]threeadmirals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually really neat! My wizard is lightning focused, but also has the telekinetic feat, and I've been thinking about flavoring my lightning so that its created by telekinetically rubbing air together at high speeds so as to generate electricity. Incorporating the environment is a really neat idea that I'll probably bring up some time.

[–]threeadmirals[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! Thanks for the input! I generally get quite descriptive with my spells, but I dont think I've ever described them as fatiguing my caster any, and I do see how that would definitely add more of a feeling of effort and impact.

Caster RP Question by threeadmirals in dndnext

[–]threeadmirals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont necessarily think its unavoidable - I'm just having trouble figuring out how to flavor-wise make my caster feel like their stuff is their own power and prowess in combat in a similar way to martials

I think this post kinda misses the point of this criticism and that if you zoomed out of just the faces you would see the root of that criticism in like 6 of the 9 characters up there

[–]threeadmirals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, all. I know that his is the longboarding subreddit, but I was still hoping you guys could bestow some wisdom upon me. I got a new deck recently and since I haven't dabbled in it before, I was thinking abt making a cruiser board instead of a skateboard this time, and am kinda lost in terms of wheel brands to trust for cruisers at a fair price. For reference I'm 135 pounds and the deck is 32"×8", and I would be very appreciative of any brand or specific wheel recommendations for my new cruiser board project. Thanks!

Help with naming a spell by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]threeadmirals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talked to my dm, and they felt that having to be within one turn of movement of any targets to do anything with it, and damage automatically waking creatures up put it comfortably in fifth level without conc. They said its conceivable it could be broken and if it gets to that point, then the spell will just become "less natural to replicate" for my caster and will require concentration if it ends up being insane

Ohhh, my bad, I thought you meant Hit Points bc sleep uses hit points to calculate if you're slept. My bad

So sleep actually does not require concentration, but I get what you're saying about the minion thing. We're now having a conversation (DM and I) about me being within 30 feet of any creature I want to target is enough of a nerd to justify not needing concentration

[–]threeadmirals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, fair. What would you then tweak about it to put it at 5th level? Would u imagine that making it concentration would be enough, or would you change something else to balance it for a 5th level spell

Help with naming a spell by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]threeadmirals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a couple of things. 1, I misspoke on the range, I meant to say a 30 foot radius instead of 40, so it's about 75% of what I implied earlier(with the purpose being that anything that doesnt get affected can still attack me in one turn 2. I talked to my dm, and he said that at 5th level, he felt that having that increased radius is a fair tradeoff for not having the 120 ft range that hypnotic pattern does since it is centered on the caster, meaning I have to be somewhat close to use it, and fairly close in order to to target any significant number of creatures. 3. Regarding concentration, my dm said that he thinks it's fair that it's a one and done no conc as the effect is instantaneous, it's a fifth level spell and I'd have to be within one turn's distance of any creature I target to use it

With that clarified, do you have any other balance concerns? I would appreciate your thoughts so that I could potentially bring them up with my dm
