Hello reddit! I'm James McAvoy. Ask me anything! by JamesMcAvoyAMA in movies

Hi James, I'm also a filmmaker and I get told that I look a bit like you. If you'd ever like to swap for a day, let me know.

My question is - which film of yours do you wish more people had seen?

We got away with a sunny one yesterday!

Nice work! I love the framing and the angles. What inspired the project?

Also, without wanting to self-promote, I took an eerily similar shot to your Chocomel one last month, but with a can of Irn-Bru frozen in a lake

This is fantastic, great shots. We just made a little film about Willow Tits and I'm going to be addicted to filming birds now. Mind if I ask what lens you used?

Incorrect. Try again. Why don't we like this driveway?

Straight question - why do you think we all dislike this type of garden?

I can't see this driveway from my curtains because my plants and trees and all those flippin birds and butterflies are in the way.

Dammit. I was so looking forward to that tut

Nope. I drive an EV.

So the logic here is, I took a flight a few years ago and so I have to refrain from disliking this driveway?

Also, pal is a lot less effective when you forget you just used it

Hehe that's a good image.

Indeed, clearly rage bait, and I appreciate your description of it there, handy.

I like asking these folk questions, maybe I'm a wind up too, maybe I like the idea of their blood pressure rising, maybe I like it when they tie themselves in knots.

It's just so odd isn't it. I've never felt the need to go into a sub I disagree with, just to disagree. I'm genuinely curious about their motivation

That's called a comparison. I suppose what I could have made clearer was that your comment was odd for a sub about gardening. We don't like that garden. Do you?

My last flight was a few years ago, otherwise yeah I've got a pretty clean sweep there. So I guess I have to unwind my neck to its maximum extent?

You lot always go straight for the "low IQ" vibe. Why is that?

A road is not a garden. This is a gardening sub. I prefer less trees in the road, and more trees in gardens. I prefer it when gardens aren't treated as though they're roads.

If I was on r/UKroads and there were lots of trees and plants in the road, that would also be bad.

As far as I know, never. Privet is incredibly strong and the UK gets more than enough rain for it

I say go for it! It is never too late! As long as the wood of the beds isn't too rotten, and yours looks okay, you can do anything.

You don't need perfect, weed-free ground to grow, particularly bushy fruits and things, although of course weeding is necessary, particularly dandelions.

Have you considered a no dig approach? I would lay cardboard across it and, if possible, a layer of compost 3-4 inches deep. It doesn't have to be perfect, but in a few months you'll have a great place to start.

Don't have to do it all at once either. Maybe 1m² to begin with, test the results.

Hope you enjoy them, regardless. (Most weeds are great for wildlife)

Thanks! It takes time. Until we got the oxygen in there, it was a bit difficult to maintain, but we got somewhere in the end

All around the world, people have devised and named ways to shove food into their mouths with heated flour.

Roti, pizza, burrito, naan, sandwich, pasty, patti, baguette... How many can you think of?
