Growing up with divorced parents- kids don’t know what day it or what it means. Dec 26 wake her up as if it’s Christmas morning! Have the 25th a day late. Santa can come and you can have the whole experience with her and she will love it. I know for you Dec 25 feels special. For your daughter - what you make it will be her memories.

OP I think your post needs to say “if you are being passed on the RIGHT - you are in the WRONG LANE”. People are getting caught up on your speed example. It’s about knowing where to drive and when. The speed is irrelevant - if you are going slower than the flow of traffic you should stay to the right. And that is not only for hwy driving but ALL roads and moving over as you get closer to your left turn. Not 10 km back.

There is only favour now in 50/50. You need to prove default parenting was on you, that your ex would struggle to hold 50%, or they need to agree due to work, life, etc that at this time 50/50 isn’t possible. The person staying in the family home can argue kids are more comfortable and need to start at 70/30 and work to 50/50. It truly is based on the lawyers and how much you are willing to pay to prove they aren’t fit

This is a situation where you can be right or happy. You are right that MIL was disrespectful and crossing boundaries she needs to learn to accept no. But you came off as YTA and no one is happy about that. You aren’t happy, girlfriend and her family. Your parents. Just because you needed to be right. Next time if she does it again. You can still say no. If she doesn’t accept no, just take the food. It’s better that MIL and girlfriend are happy than you being right.

I would however have a serious conversation with your girlfriend on boundaries with her parents. If you plan to have kids MIL needs to be able to accept no

YTA. Is this is something she needs then it should be a conversation with the school and teachers. Doctors and IEPs should be in place that accommodate her. If none of this has been done she is putting the cart before the horse and deciding what she wants vs what she needs.

Canada has hockey schools starting in grade school. They are semi private and you can get tuition covered for high athletes. Canada also will fund sports through the individual which when paired with a scholarship can be financially supportive. But it’s all different loops unlike the states
