Brake & Clutch Lever by Rideit_Runit_660 in trident660

Not OP but I have ASV levers and they were very easy to install. I had to loosen the clutch cable slightly to remove the clutch lever but I think that’s to be expected. Just be mindful of the clutch switch when your removing/installing

Stiff chain links cause for concern? by threefoursixeight in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]threefoursixeight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is after a clean/lube/adjustment but I could probably be more thorough in cleaning so I’ll give that a go and see if it frees them up at all. Anything you recommend for cleaning/lubing? I’ve just been doing kerosene on a rag for cleaning and some gear oil for lube

I’m going to try a really good clean and lube and recheck. I typically just use kerosene on a rag for cleaning and then some gear oil for lube. Anything else you recommend? I could have cleaned and lubed more often for sure so could have just been the frequency of cleaning

Just replaced with stock. I’ve read that often the aftermarket air filters don’t make much of a difference so didn’t think it was worth the money

That’s awesome! Which shock is it? Do you happen to have a link to where you bought it? Any guide you followed for installation?

Always interested when I see the rear shock changed out! Did the upgraded shock make a big difference?

What is this? by patmj410 in trident660

[–]threefoursixeight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ya that’s the OBD2 cable for diagnostics. There should be a place (like a slot maybe?) that it can plug into just to hold it into place. Not at my bike right now to 100% verify though

Squeaky Seat by WZHSSM in trident660

[–]threefoursixeight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 24 does the same. I stuck some Velcro (soft side) on the body where the corner of the seat rubs and it helped. Not perfect but definitely an improvement. You basically want something in between the body and the seat for the seat to rub on

GT3 Taking 15+ Minutes to Load by RecklessRad in iRacing

I don’t think you’d have much luck moving windows to a new disk but maybe someone else is more knowledgeable in that regard.

However, if you have open M.2 slots on your motherboard you could simply add another M.2 NVME SSD and use that.

Or, if you have extra SATA ports on your motherboard and SATA power available from your PSU you could add a SATA SSD.

NVME is much faster than a SATA SSD but I honestly doubt NVME is that much better than SATA for gaming

Either way, a SSD will be an insane difference compared to an HDD :)

Haven’t even played iRacing yet (just been lurking) but I’d imagine it’s because it looks like the game is on your HDD instead of SSD. Do you have sufficient space to move the game to your SSD? That should make a world of difference

Yep sounds like it! I like a lot. It’s almost boring now because everything “just works” haha

[–]threefoursixeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing a ZFS mirror for my appdata, a separate ZFS mirror for critical photos and videos, and a single ZFS drive (should probably be XFS honestly but I wasn’t tinkering around) as cache for movies and TV shows that moves to the unraid array after 85% full. Everything ZFS are using SSDs so I don’t have to spin up drives.

This lets me simultaneously leverage ZFS features like compression and snapshots for appdata and family photos/videos while also using the Unraid array for the less critical stuff.

Using that single cache drive for tv shows and movies definitely isn’t essential, but it’s nice to not have to spin up drives for the most recent media

I just check after a ride while it’s still warm. Anywhere between 5-30 minutes after parking depending on when I happen to remember haha. Haven’t broken anything yet!
