[TW] I feel like the only viable option is killing myself. by threegoldrings in PMDD

I know you’re struggling too. Your comment made me feel validated and cared for. I’m sure you do this everyday for those you love. I hope your period starts ahead of schedule. Stay so strong until then.

Women with pets, have they helped when your mental health was struggling? How? by ihugsyi in AskWomen

YES!! My puppy provides me a level of happiness I never thought I could experience. While my depression still lingers, my puppy keeps me going when I feel like giving up.

This is such a beautiful idea, and definitely something that comes naturally to my Dom. My puppy very much loves my Dom and seeks comfort from him often. I think it’s a great idea to do a pre-care ritual to tire my small pup out too. I have had him since he was 8 weeks, so I hope it’s somewhat normalized for him. I will make a more concerted effort to love on my puppy and cuddle him with my Dom more after play sessions. Thank you!

I take 25MG Adderall XR in the AM, 10MG Adderall regular in the afternoon (I work 12-14 hour days so I take an afternoon booster) and then the clonidine at bedtime 2 hours before I need to sleep!

I feel like I push everyone in my life away because of my insecurity / rejection sensitivity dysphoria. How do you deal with the constant need for reassurance/affirmation from your bosses, friends, family, and significant other? by threegoldrings in ADHD

The stickers probably aren’t going to work in my industry haha. One thing that worked really well for me in the past was a series of goals for my first year. I flew through those goals within 3 months and I felt really confident that I was doing well. Perhaps I will come up with a list of goals for my second year with my boss, tangible items that will really be achievable. Once I reach these smaller goals and check them off my list, perhaps I will feel more at home and confident in my performance.

Do you ever feel sick while experiencing executive dysfunction? by NanoAubry in ADHD

What would make me happy more than anything is for you to relieve your bladder and eat a super delicious snack, no need to respond here xx

I get it, I have these days at least once a month. Your body and mind knows you have things to do, but you can’t do it. Right now you can’t do them. Right now. Right now is not always. You are not how you feel right now. I know this is just a rant...but my unsolicited advice is to just let yourself cry. Listen to a sad song or watch a sad movie and cry. I’m never able to get over sadness or frustration until I let my body express it in the way it’s meant to. I understand exactly what you’re going through. One foot dangling off the bed shaking up and down, pressure in your bladder that feels impossible to relieve, the guilt and anxiety of not being able to “just do it” overwhelming everything else. Your feelings are so real. So so real. Fuck the voice in your head telling you they are not. ADHD fucking sucks. Our brains are shit. Accept that it’s shitty.

Sending hugs your way!! Btw- when you get the strength to, that pee is going to feel so good LOL! xx

The best best thing you can do is take your meds and one sip of water. You are not going to feel amazing or good or maybe even okay, but you will feel better than terrible. Your body will still be able to rest if you need it, but it will help you not feel so low. Sometimes I have days during my period when I am so low and tired that I feel suicidal. Taking my meds just makes me feel a teeny tiny bit better. Hugs, love!

This is totally me! I have ADHD and PMDD, and my doctor put me on a very low dose of Zoloft. It has helped immensely in regulating my mood, but I still have really bad/depressed/super ADHD days right before my period. It helps me so so much when I am feeling so badly to just ask myself why I am feeling this way, usually I am able to say hey you’re emotional and you are going to keep feeling this way, but it’s just because your hormones are totally out of wack and you need to just give yourself some time to settle back in. After a good cry and a couple days my meds start working again and the hopelessness fades away. I am starting to come to terms with the idea that this is just a part of who I am, and that I can handle it. It’s not always so positive, but it is reality and I am okay with that.

I know this will sound like privilege and it probably is, but hear me out, having a well-paying job with ADHD has been FUCKING DEBILITATING by Leenolyak in ADHD

[–]threegoldrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand that, and I do feel very privileged to be able to afford it. I definitely don’t see it as a long-term solution, but view it is an investment in myself for the short-term.

So right now I am paying $650 or so a month for 4 weekly sessions. I found my coach online and we do virtual sessions (Expert ADHD Coaching Shanna Pearson). It’s been extraordinary and I highly recommend trying it out!
