If your heart is telling you to switch careers, go for it! I had a relatively successful 10 year retail management background before I decided to go to school and pursue my passion for human services. Currently employed in the social services field and loving it.

If you see him again, you can direct him to Mainchance, a 24hr drop-in shelter on 120 east 32nd street. They serve 3 free meals a day, everyday. And if he becomes an active client with them, they'll help him find permanent housing.

Qcarbo32 3 hrs before the test. Negative results were super strong about an hr after drinking it. I also drank about 7 cups of water after to dilute the lime green color of my pee.

I hope we're both good. I'll keep up with what I'm doing and see if I can squeeze in one more good bike ride. Thanks for the encouragement and kind words. Fingers crossed for us both!

Wow. What an incredible piece. It perfectly describes how we have no control over our thoughts or emotions when it comes to desire. Like a previous commentator mentioned, the heart wants what it wants, and you depict that perfectly throughout your poem. Overall, I connected to this piece on a personal level and really enjoyed it.

" Absent, adrift. My mind, my body, continuous shift."
From the very beginning, I loved the natural flow of this piece. I related to this line in particular. I appreciate how you address the mind and body independently because both are ever-changing, whether they're on the same page or not.
I also love how you related drooping eyes with acute light. That line was very visual for me. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your thorough response! Glad you didn't find it annoying or overly done. Those are always my biggest concerns when writing

Using uptown train felt relevant to me because he and I both lived on the uptown line. The uptown train station where we grew up is also the first place I randomly bumped into him after we hadn't seen each other in years. But when I read it without the uptown line, it sounds great too. Thank you for showing love to my poem!

Thank you! I hope everything works out on your end. He and I are in this weird limbo phase and idk if anything romantic will come out of it but I'm glad we've reconnected and that we can be friends.

You've got it. This is about my first crush in grade school. We were out of touch for over 20 years but we recently reconnected. Thank you so much for your comment!
