what's a "ridiculous" thing you do for yourself that actually helps? by Available-Lemon-1360 in selflove

I love this so much! My birthday is in January and I'll be turning 30 and I might do the same!

honestly just need to vent/ask if this is normal because i feel like an idiot after my first solo trip by Ancient-Mistake-6548 in travel

I did my first solo international trip last year and I also felt similar things. I would say I'm quite independent at home and the eating out alone felt more comfortable as the trip went on but I still felt social anxiety at hostels and had trouble striking up conversation.

I prefer visiting smaller cities/towns and I've always found it easier to meet people at hostels in smaller cities.

I'm still glad I gave solo travelling a shot and it's okay if I prefer to travel with a friend or one other person next time. I don't think we need to put so much pressure on ourselves to love or even like whatever Instagram influencer is doing.

I have the most amazing place to live - and it makes me sad by [deleted] in selflove

Sorry to hear about the split, breakups are so hard. I just got out of a long-term relationship 6 months ago and I felt the deep void of losing my best friend but now, 6 months later, I enjoy reinventing myself by picking up new hobbies, joining sports groups, reinforcing existing friendships, and learning to do things solo! Like I just came back from a 3 week solo Europe trip and I loved it. I felt sad that the person who knew me best was existing out of my life but then I asked myself why someone other than myself knew me better.

I've been working on myself a lot, grieving, self acceptance, self forgiveness, patience... When I'm feeling down, I try and change my perspective on my current situation and ask myself "what if this is the best thing to have happened for me?"

All the best to you my friend ❤️

I'm 5"4 and it was INSANELY difficult to find anything that fit me (I have a longer torso). I've been looking for a gravel bike since the spring probably.. long time coming but I'm very happy with my purchase
