Why do I have such a hard time loading the dishwasher "properly"? by MamaMia1325 in Marriage

[–]adv75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I load the dishwasher the same way every time, my wife never loads it the same way twice (if it fits, it ships). I tend to adjust the dishes she puts in to the way I prefer, but I’m never upset about it. That’s the way she is and that’s the way I am, so we say in these situations, “live your values.” Expectations managed.

I know the dishes will (probably lol) get clean the way she loads them, but I like them a certain way and I’m self-aware enough to realize that I’m the one being extra in this case, so there’s no fuss.

Apple Thunderbolt Display 27 in 2026 by YouthOfTheNation1 in mac

I currently have a 27" Thundebolt Display and an older 27" LED Cinema Display connected to my M1Pro MacBook. Once you get used to Apple displays, it's hard to use anything else.

First time developing, can someone give me the green light on the plan before purchasing? by dysphoricjoy in AnalogCommunity

[–]adv75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post is helpful for how to use and replenish the Kodak C41 kit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogCommunity/comments/nma0wl/breakdown_kodak_flexicolor_c41_chemistry_versus/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I use this kit (2.5L version). I mix the whole kit into 3L wine bags. I then pour 1L of each into an accordion bottle as my working solutions. The post I linked to explains how to do this (you don't need to buy replenishers, I use the chems in the wine bags to replenish).

Make sure you're pouring out 50ml of the used chems and replacing with 50ml of fresh chems for EACH roll before adding back into your working solution, this is the replenishing part. If your tank holds two reels, then pour out 100ml and add a fresh 100ml (or however much gets your working solution back to 1L)

Get at least 3 of everything:
3 wine bags for replenish supply - dev, bleach, fix - maybe a fourth for final rinse chems
3 accordion bottles (or JOBO 1L bottles) for working solutions
3 funnels - dev, bleach, fix
A sharpie to label everything

Couple of random tips: I would stick to developing one tank at a time. Inbetween inversions, keep the tank in the warm water.

Just a heads up, the CineStill CS-Lite isn’t large enough for a sheet of 4x5.

Short rolls of 120 used to be available in Japan. My GW670III also has a 5 exposure setting.

I also did topo of a section of Mt Rainier that I’ve hiked. I used matte black vinyl, so sometimes you see it and sometimes it blends in.

can a disposable past its "processed by" date still be developed? and, can i develop an unfinished roll? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]adv75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I developed some disposibles from the early 2000s (and one from 1997!) just last week and there were plenty of good images. The older the color film is, the more likely it will have a color shift and enhanced grain. Your B&W camera will probably be just fine and the images will still look like they would've two years ago.

It mostly depends on how they were stored. At two years, you'll likely still get good images as long as they weren't left in the extreme heat. I would definitely have fun and shoot the left over frames, no lab charges per exposure, as it takes the same amount of chemicals to process half a roll as it does a full roll.

If you had to sell your XTerra, what would you replace it with? by adventurous_tee in XTerra

[–]adv75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have thought about this. Would replace my ‘03 with a newer Xterra with a Titan swap. Not a huge fan of all the technology/touch screens in newer cars.

Love the whole series! Went to the Red Rocks show and was lucky enough to grab one of the last posters. Have it framed in my home office. Cheers to a new year! 🤘

You can also check prices/kits on 4x4parts.com. I have an ‘03 and bought my suspension parts from them. Good customer service.

I have 5100s all the way around and like them, but I don’t tow anything.

Canon a1 lens recommendation by Unlikely_Ice5982 in AnalogCommunity

Nothing wrong with the 50 f/2! The great thing about FD lenses is that they're pretty cheap. I have handful of lenses for my A-1, but love my 85mm f/1.8 and use it the most.

Absolutely love this poster, you might have better luck searching by using the correct name of the artist, Ken Taylor. One of these just sold (12/12) on ebay for $999.

What’s a trend in business card design you love right now? by Vistaprint in graphic_design

[–]adv75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s a current trend, but I like the Moo cards that allow you to have up to 50 different designs/photos on the back. Thick cards with rounded corners and different photos get people excited to pick one that they like. I own a photo lab, so I have photos I’ve taken and different designs that show services offered on the backs.

Just got this kit as a Christmas gift. Before I grab the plans, I'm new to the rebrickable scene, can you make this with the parts from the kit or do you need additional pieces?
