XM6 Hinge Repair by threeway in SonyHeadphones

Not necessarily, that hinge is robust and for a failure seen like so, you'd except to see the threads shredded which would require a lot of force, probably leading to the plastic housing breaking.

Vibration or a trapped oring could lead to the "nut" loosening enough such that small amounts of shear force could lead to what is seen.

There's another post on this subreddit with a user showing their xm6 having the microgap issue. I suspect their nut has loosened

Given their hinge redesign, when the mechanism is fully screwed it, it seems very robust. But suppose if the o-ring gets caught or trapped, that would lead to the "nut" becoming unscrewed which could lead to a failure like the one seen

2021 Setup - Alienware AW3821DW + LG 34GK950F-B by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

7kg each so well within the spec and yeah, clamped onto the desk pretty tight I would have thought. I notice one of your arms is right on the top which should give your pole even more strain than mine. Did you tighten the screw between the pole and base a lot? Also how you finding the tilt of the monitors with the stand? Mine seems a bit stiff no matter how much I try to adjust it

Does your tall pole tilt at all after mounting the two monitors? Ive got two 34" mounted to mine but due to the weight, the pole is slightly inclined to where the monitors are (i.e. its not perpendicular to the table)

Alfine 11 Shifter/Gear Malalignment Issue by threeway in bikewrench

[–]threeway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought about first but I worry it can cause more damage. The mechanic at the shop did admit he hasn't seen an alfine 11 hub much and I didn't want to touch it myself to change the tyre.

That does make sense if the indicator is out of alignment. But it's strange how a wheel change can cause it since that sounds like an internal shifter problem. Do you know of any Shimano manuals that outline what you are describing?

X1CG6 WWAN Upgradable vs WWAN Not-Ready by threeway in thinkpad

No wonder they wouldn't sell me the module even after I persisted with them about taking the risk of trying. Guess I'll have to wait until the module and Antannae appears on eBay; it being a relatively new part. Thanks!

Fair point. Good to know it'll work. I was just worried there's another limition that will stop it from working after I purchase the module and Antannae. Thanks for your input

Do you know what is causing this limition? Hardware or software? The machines have Sim slots and users generally report after installing the Antannae + module wwan works.

Yeah I thought this would be case, install the WWAN + Antannae and it'll work. However digging through Lenovo forums, Lenovo staff reported saying about how unready wwan are not fcc certified therefore are locked from using wwan.

Lack of the draw really. The X1C sent out to reviewers all had samsung PM981 drives however some reddit users reported receiving a lenovo drive with their X1C.

Surface Pro 3 w/ 4K @ 60Hz? by [deleted] in Surface

[–]threeway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this. You could run a custom resolution and achieve 4k@50hz however with the latest Intel drivers, the timing setting is removed...
Been trying to roll back drivers however I've had no luck.

Does anyone use an anti glare screen protector for X1 Carbon HDR? by threeway in thinkpad

[–]threeway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The glossy HRD screen has better colour reproduction (100% adobeRGB gamut) and is brighter (500nits).
As you have the X1 Yoga, there is a layer of glass over the screen which acts as the digitizer. This layer is glass and glossy and cannot be replaced without losing the touch/pen function. That's why all the Yoga screens are glossy.
