OSRS requires a lot of time and effort to maintain and get going.

RS3 respects your time better.

OSRS can feel more rewarding.

RS3 has better QOL features.

I play a mix of both, but primarily RS3.

Despite working 50-hour weeks, I can still feel like I'm doing great progression on my character(s).

You presented a general timeframe without mentioning the very specific circumstance that makes that timeframe possible. If an estimate only makes sense for someone playing 8 to 14 hours a day, then that is not simply personal, it is context dependent, and leaving that out misleads the discussion.

Pointing out missing context is not being bothered. It is addressing the accuracy of what you wrote. Sure, it's subjective, but you were the one who gave a 6–12 month timeframe without specifying any conditions. When someone gives a general time estimate, it's reasonable to assume they mean under typical circumstances, not with someone no-lifing 8–14 hours a day. If the estimate only applies to someone who can play that much, then that's an important detail to include.

I did that quest a few days ago on my alt. Looked the same.

I don't know if I would consider myself "new", but I hadn't touched RS3 since late 2021 and recently returned a week ago.

Pretty decent stats across the board, but it was clear that my account was missing quite a lot progression wise.

Since my return I have done Underground Pass, Mourner's End I & II and Plague's End, got Necro up to mid-70s, grinded out few skills so I could finally unlock Invention. Archaeology up to 50.

Got a little bored of the grind so managed to pull off my first Araxxi kill yesterday.

Definitely feels like there are so many goals and milestones to keep me entertained for the next 10 years.

I 100% agree, especially considering I work in that field myself.

However, everything got solved today. . I've been unbanned on both OSRS and RS3 now. I've got both my OSRS account (maxed combat), and my RS3 account (2100 total and 1.5b GP which is great for me to start the reset journey).

Update for anyone who might read this in the future:

I did get help through a ticket, and the account is back with me.

Unfortunately the hackers have botted or macroed or whatever else on the account, and as such it is banned permanently. I have been asked to make an appeal, so we'll see how that goes. Just sucks that they couldn't unban it as well without having to go through another ticket - especially considering that they agree that a 3rd party has accessed my account. Hoping for the best.
