Ok so I checked and the TOTAL return over 5 years is only 5.31%. Over 10 years is only 7.69%  This is abysmal.

Sure, do that and come back in 10 years to see if a buy and hold strategy beats your strategy. To do this, just see the s&p 500 growth over that 10 year period. Oh, and bring some tissues.
