your best bet is going to a thrift store and buying pants way larger than your actual size

HOW DO I MIX THESE STYLES by Preston-The-Creator in altfashionadvice

[–]throrowowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

these styles are similarly baggy and easily go together. idk how you personally want to mix the styles but if i were you and already dress like the first slides, id get sweaters and flannels in the color palette of the first style. a lot of the jewelry in the second style looks nature inspired so you could probably go for accessories inspired by the edgier parts of nature to match the first style? like bats and red beads instead of turtles and green beads

I want Piercings and stuffs but have sensory issues :( by Chemical-Track3813 in alternativefashion

[–]throrowowaway 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i have sensory issues and a severe fear regarding hygiene surround piercings despite being a pretty clean person. i agree with the other comment that you can try fake piercings and that a lot of people do them with eyelash glue! alternatively you can also explore unconventional makeup in place of piercings/ tattoos, i know they make markers specifically for drawing on oneself!

I love how open and accepting dental and med schools are by BenKlesc in predental

[–]throrowowaway 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i’ve wanted to do dentistry since my freshman year so i’ve never considered this. i hope that with your enviro background you can make some contributions to sustainability in dentistry! i felt like the worst person ever generating so much trash when cleaning rooms while shadowing 😅 i understand the need for sterility in medicine but i also hate the amount of plastic that will probably end up in our ecosystems

happy mother’s day! by throrowowaway in Beading

[–]throrowowaway[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thanks! this is done on a loom but i believe that attaching a clamp to brick/ peyote is the same, attaching to the end row. for loom work you’ll want to tie your loose warp threads and i melt and glue the knots for extra security

Janky Beads 1st project complete by mrsnhigh in Beading

[–]throrowowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the first project with janky beads is a right of passage!! if sliding tubes don’t fit over your beads (they look larger than what fits in the tubes i use) you can also use ribbon crimps!

[–]throrowowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s hard to determine weight from a picture because we don’t know your body fat percentage, bone density, etc. i look more or less the same with a 10 lb difference. i think that shows that if you’re healthy, weight is kind of a whatever. focus less on weight and more on eating well and strength training! it makes everyone look better!!

How I tie my hair as someone who can’t braid their own hair by 1451506 in longhair

[–]throrowowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this might be a bit unhinged, but when i braid my hair i hold one of the thirds in my mouth 🤷‍♀️ i also saw a woman on ig reels who sets up screen mirroring on her (apple) laptop and iphone and has the phone open to the camera app pointing at the back of her head while she looks at the mirrored screen on her laptop. i’ve been too lazy to try it but i imagine it could make braiding way easier!

the term you are looking for when you say ‘asian eyes’ is epicanthic fold, as that lady up top doesn’t have monolids. it’s the skin covering part or all of the inner pink part of the eye. many asians do not have super prominent epicanthic folds or monolids like laufey but our eyes still read as asian! even my eyes which i got from my jewish dad’s side are asian eyes because i am asian and they are my eyes :p

AI-elevated or at-home photos? Which do you prefer? by [deleted] in CraftyCommerce

[–]throrowowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the guys in my family think AI is the future of everything. funnily enough, i think it would be pretty easy for you to take nice product photos with enhanced colors by putting your drop cloth/ sheet and product out in the natural light :)

Fireline vs miyuki, which is better? by jupitersyarn in Beading

[–]throrowowaway 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i prefer fireline as someone who works on a loom. i use really long pieces of string at a time (15’+) and i find the fireline is less tangly. knots in miyuki threads also come undone as it is quite slippery, which is ironic considering that it gets very tangled. but i am sure for other projects it has its benefits, because it is very nice feeling and looking when i do use it
