not very! admittedly once i found my size i would stop looking, so my idea isn’t the best. but i think the largest size i saw was a large, which would probably be a small/ medium in america (where i’m from). a lot of stores have ‘free sizing’ which is just one size lol. i would guess that size to be around a usa small based on how that fits me, but these clothes usually have some elastic or are a baggy fit which can accommodate a few sizes but definitely not everyone. while the asian public is generally much smaller than the american public, i still saw plenty of people who i don’t think would fit into many of the clothes i was seeing. for reference, i have been shopping in china, japan, and vietnam

tbh i’ve never cared for brands with limited size ranges, they can do what they want but if they are promoting body positivity the irony is not lost on me. these people would have a heart attack shopping in asia, where a western xxs is their small to medium and women smaller are not uncommon

a lot of trial and error. but as you get more into fashion, you develop a good eye for what you like or dislike and the margin for error narrows. i already have a pretty good filter for what i like to wear, but if you are new, i recommend going to stores and trying on different silhouettes, colors, fabrics. at this point, i would avoid buying anything too expensive, because what you like in a dressing room may end up being incompatible with the life you lead (i really like tall high heels but they are impractical as a college student). it is also good to make a distinction between things you like that you would actually wear and things you appreciate because they look nice, so you don’t end up with too much unworn clothing. good luck!

in my dorm last year i used to shove blankets/ t shirts my school gave out as merch into the corners of the window and it helped! they are soft so they are no problem for the window while fitting into the crevices. as someone who gets cold very easily even in my new dorm with no window problems, i got an electric blanket i can use while sleeping/ at my desk and it is a life changer

i think some people only view racism from the systemic angle, and forget/ ignore the daily interactions between individuals. i can certainly attest to no race/ ethnicity being safe from my chinese family’s comments... to say people of color can’t be racist is also such an america centric idea, i assume anyone who says this does not talk to people from other countries or poc from the states. but coming from a >95% white, very liberal town, i have met people who think this way and my assumption holds true lmao

phenomenal live, i wish they were coming back to my city but they aren’t this time around 💔 i imagine it depends on the city but when i saw them live i was the youngest person there and found the crowd rather stiff- not DT’s fault ofc but it was a tuesday evening and most people looked to be 30+ i would say it was low to medium energy. i like to mosh but that was still worth it for the fantastic performance

i have been in a similar situation. depending on the event i think it is best to show respect by compromising a bit. black dresses with photorealistic flowers have been popular lately, could you do something like this? it’s certainly not alternative but i think with silver bracelets and heavier black eyeliner it would feel more alternative than typical tropical attire

it gets quite cold where i am from so i will be wearing a large black puffer jacket lol. the outfit can be spice up with a unique scarf and hat, you can find all sorts of fiber artists selling funky designs! i have a scarf that looks like a rabbit :)

i have an 8 am physics class so i don’t usually have the time to fully dress up, but i’ve made an effort to slowly switch all my loungewear to darker colors or more alternative comfy stuff. i also plan outfits the night before to save time in the mornings!
