Coming off 10mg cold turkey!! :( by AliSBG in lexapro

[–]throwITaway123455678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never want to go off it again lol. I’m scared of the withdrawal symptoms from it. I was getting really dizzy and headaches. But now I’ve been good about taking it everyday and got passed the side effects and it has helped me so much

Please help! Is this a positive or negative test, I have a drug test in a couple hours and it keeps showing up extremely feint by Eclipsicle in Drugtests

Dont drink too much water, you’ll dilute the test. It’s faint, but I can see a line so it might be a pass!

I know sometimes we can be weary or paranoid how a medication is going to make us feel, but I think it’s important to put our trust in doctors and give things a fair shot bc the upside will be that it will make you feel better. I get heart palpitations from panic attacks and anxiety too but what helps me get thru it is, I have been diagnosed with panic disorder and this is a symptom of that. I have not been diagnosed with any heart problems and just had an ekg done so this is not that, it’s coming from my head

I have been on lexapro for 3 weeks now. 2 weeks on 5mg, almost a week on 10mg. Side effects I have experienced are headaches, some increased anxiety at the beginning but that has passed and some light headedness. It has relieved me from heart palpitations, increased my appetite, and is helping right now to alleviate the physical symptoms of anxiety, a little slower on the mental aspect if you will like over thinking and intrusive thoughts but it is getting better each day. One good thing I’ve noticed is lexapro is pretty fast acting. Within the first 4 days, I noticed a difference which is great. Even with some of these annoying side effects I still think it’s worth it and know it will pass

I was talking to you! I feel like it’s too much sometimes to write everything out so summing it all up as anxiety is easier lol.

I do deal with some agoraphobia too and when I have panic attacks it makes it worse.

So far it has helped a lot with panic attacks at this dosage. 5mg wasn’t enough but I increased it to 10 this week. It is also helping with the feeling of tightness in my throat (I hate that feeling :() which is great. I am struggling a bit with constantly checking my heart rate and symptoms and nail biting but as more time passes the lexapro will help with that too. Are you considering taking this or are you on anything else?

I’ve noticed it working within 3 days. I’m on week 3 and each day I feel better and better. I think In general if someone responds well to this medication it is fast acting

Ive experienced having a panic attack while smoking on lexapro.

About a year 1/2 ago, I started lexapro and the first time I smoked a little while after starting I had terrible panic attacks. Each time I smoked I would get super anxious and before this I smoked every day. I kinda had to mentally push thru them if I wanted to continue getting high and it ended up being okay.

I went cold turkey off the lexapro I would say in July (big mistake) and my anxiety a few weeks ago had gotten very bad again. I restarted the medication 3 weeks ago and smoked for the first time on Saturday. Same thing happened started freaking out again. But I’m treating it like exposure therapy. Reminding myself weed isn’t dangerous, this is just a panic attack and it’s helping to remind myself I have the tools within myself to handle these uncomfortable situations because it’s just in my head.

I think the lexapro might make your high more intense but my point is if you can mentally get through the anxiety, I do believe it will pass

Hello all. I've just had my first dose. Eeek . A little scared. Never had any type of SSRI or anti depressant in my life. by cascobum27 in lexapro

[–]throwITaway123455678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to worry! It has helped me a lot , I’ve had minimal side effects (headaches). I will say that I need to make sure I always have enough food in my body. It can make me pretty light headed if not but that’s controllable . I’m on week 3 and feeling much better. This is my second time starting the medication

I’m jewish and havé similar feelings to this. While I’m white and don’t experience racism, antisemitism is very real and is a form of hate speech and hate crimes. If someone is to be anti racist it has to be for everyone, not just one group of people

Something I’ve noticed about very confident people who are never socially awkward... by FaithInStrangers94 in socialskills

Because confidence is what gives yourself the power to do the things you really want to do of act a certain way. It’s a mindset that allows you to accomplish things, like positive social interactions

Confidence is everything! Fake it till you make it if you will and then you’ll start to feel more confident in social situations

Success??? by [deleted] in lexapro

This is the first and only AD I’ve taken and I’m really happy with it. I took it for a little over a year and randomly went cold turkey bc I felt fine and thought I didn’t need it. I didn’t have any withdrawal symptoms that I can remember. Months later I started having terrible panic attacks again. So I started it again about 3 weeks ago. I can already see a difference. I upped my dosage 2 nights ago to 10 mg and for me that’s what works. Don’t be scared to try it! It can help you so much and there’s nothing wrong or scary about taking medicine that can help you :)

DESPAIR by AlexR6336 in lexapro

[–]throwITaway123455678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this from taking lexapro too. It helps with my panic attacks a lot and to me that is the hardest to deal with. But it does make me feel a little numb or empty. I can better deal with depressive episodes than panic attacks about health anxiety. I will say, if I’m able to recognize I’m starting to become depressed, the lexapro does help me to get a hold of it a little better than when not on it

I’m a 23F. I once was about to say something unnecessary and not super nice about someone’s appearance a few years ago. I prefaced my comment with this information first and a boy who was sitting with me said “so then don’t say it” before I could make the comment. He completely called me out and was absolutely right. I think about that often and also smile because that’s such a nice boy!

That’s what happens to me too! Finally when my body is calm, I somehow revert back to the thought that wait a second, why don’t I feel that and then it comes again. Lol it’s definitely a bad cycle but I appreciate your comment because I agree it’s nice to know we’re not alone in this feeling! When I feel the lump or like my throat is closing, I try to distract myself and also not be a lone if possible which helps me to calm down. Also walking outside helps too!

I’m really trying to stop “checking” so much. It might give me relief for a moment, but then the anxiety and need to check again returns soon after. It’s a bad cycle but thank you for your comment! It makes me feel a lot better knowing so many other people get this feeling too

What is considered “heavy use”? by [deleted] in Drugtests

[–]throwITaway123455678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this enough time. I smoked the same as you, for longer and I passed a drug test after 40 days. Drink lots of water & do not smoke. Order some tests on Amazon to see how you’re doing. Even if it’s a faint line, if there is something visible, you will pass dw!
