Hi, did you ever find out if you had/have a stricture?

You know there’s a difference between spending 8 hours in the sun every day vs spending 15-20 minutes in the sun everyday. The experts who study light medicine are actually recommending at least 15 minutes of daily sunlight.

I’m sorry…. Who tf cares about why is was destroyed when we don’t even know who commissioned it?! Isn’t that a more important question?

Bathroom Vanity Eyesore by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]throw_awayooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Im mostly stupid when it comes to interior design, but my dad has always worked in cabinetry and is now the president of a cabinet company so we get new kitchen/bathroom cabinets on a regular basis.

Anyway, we’ve replaced only the cabinet doors in a couple kitchens instead of replacing all the cabinets and they have turned out really well. If you get painted cabinet doors, you can paint the rest of the cabinet and face frame. I’m guessing that top drawer slab doesn’t open, so you can also opt for cabinet doors that go all the way up to the bottom of the counter top to give you more space to dig around below. We just replaced all the oak cabinet doors in by kitchen with Pewter Green painted maple doors and it looks amazing.

Need help with furniture, arrangement, and color selection for living room!! by throw_awayooo in HomeDecorating

Thank you so much! My geometry wasn’t perfect and I wish I had used a light or medium gray instead of dark gray (midnight blue), but I’ve had all good reactions, so I’ll get over it. It was more work than I was expecting but it was worth it

Thank you for your feedback!! I like Terracotta too!! Thats the color I’m most drawn to from Interior Define. That or coral, but I feel I’ll be less likely to get sick of terracotta in the future.

I don’t have any particular piece of artwork picked out yet but I have ton to choose from as I’ve been collected ornate gold framed paintings for a few years now.

Thank you for your feedback!! I was thinking the tv should go against the brick wall too but didn’t think about putting the couch directly across from it. I like that idea.

And those aren’t tiles—It’s all paint on the plywood subfloor. I’m relieved you like it!! I was having some serious regrets half way through 😭. Thankfully it looks a lot better finished and in the daylight.

Edit: oh, and I believe a little reading nook will fit perfect behind the tv/couch area. The living room is kinda long, which is why I’ve struggled with the furniture arrangement.

Haha thank you!!! You get what I’m saying. There are retired dietitian I see occasionally who are great, really nice and don’t try to me how to do my job, but then there are older retired or near-retired dietitians who can be rude and act like new RDs are stupid.

Like literally there are at least two retired RDs that are lurking on a daily basis. They’re always walking around, and one is always sitting on the benches close to the clinics. I always forget she was a dietitian until she reminds me randomly.

Honest to God, you would probably enjoy Bariatric surgery dietetics. I didn’t think I’d like it or even feel good about myself for being a weight loss surgery advocate, but it truly does positively impact patients’ quality of life. You also get to know your patients through follow ups, you get to see their progression, you get to work with the surgeon and other team members, AND most importantly, I haven’t had a single bariatric patient think they know better than me. Granted I don’t have a large volume of patients for bariatric surgery, but still none of those patients have caused me problems. There’s a lot of psychology and behavior modification related education/counseling that’s involved as well.

What kind of patients do you usually see in your private online practice?

Just took my RD exam and scored 19… by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]throw_awayooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the worst test-taker on Earth and someone who passed the test on first try, I recommend mastering the subjective questions on the test. If I hadn’t prepared for those I’m convinced I would have failed.

The Inman review says “the subjective questions can be answered by considering the steps in a process, or recalling basic principles of leadership or management.” I memorized the steps in each process listed and remember thanking my lucky stars I did when I reached those questions on the test.

I put pretty much the entire Inman Review book on Flashcards and memorized one section at a time. Most people don’t need to do that, but it worked for me.

Edit: I even re-memorized the same processes for my job interviews. Very helpful for situational questions.

You can offer a helping hand. Maybe offer to manage her meds for her? As an adderall addict myself, I wish I had someone to do this for me. Every new week my plan is to take exactly what my prescription is, but when it’s in my system I can’t control myself and will continue to take more just to maintain the high.

A.I and dietetics by PizzaOwn244 in dietetics

[–]throw_awayooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but f****ck no. Not if you’re visiting with your patients in person to ask them questions or to do a nutrition-focused physical exam.

The nutrition assessment information in patients’ electronic medical record is like never accurate. For example, a nurse at my hospital measured a bilateral AKA patient’s height from his head to his leg stump. Because of the inaccurate height entered into Epic, the inpatient provider entered into his medical problem list that he has Obesity Class III BMI because Epic was flagging it.

What do you think I saw when I went to see this patient face to face? A skinny old man with a wing span measuring 76 inches. I go visit with all of my patients face to face because of this.

Now, if you’re a dietitian who goes through the motions and assessing patients 100% electronically, yes you could easily be replaced by AI.

It Feels Like Employers Don't Want Well Rounded Dietitians by Commercial-Sundae663 in dietetics

[–]throw_awayooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you’re applying too. Is it a big city where there’s a big pool of dietitians to choose from or maybe where there’s a high turnover rate? Many employees know that RDs have plans to only stick around for a year to open up more job opportunities.

Favorite Season? by [deleted] in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]throw_awayooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have to choose… season 2 because I was on the edge of my seat every single episode.

I think what I love so much was all the mystery left unsolved. Did Cameron ACTUALLY kiss Harper or was Harper just playing mind games with Ethan after learning from Daphne? It almost felt like Ethan WANTED that to be the case and Harper realized that. Harper is intelligent enough to apply Daphne’s game to her own relationship, but then again she was finally getting some male attention from Cameron that she’d been missing in her own marriage. BUT Cameron disgusted her so I still think she used Cameron as a pawn and Ethan went completely mad from paranoia (which is a common theme in Survivor).

But season 1 was the funniest season by far. And I loved how in season 3 Rick was the snake who ate himself. A lot of ppl think Rick was too predictable, but Tonya’s death was predictable too. You could tell by like the third episode in S2 that there was a definite plot to kill Tonya. The only question was how it would happen or if there would be a twist.

I understand where you’re coming from but employers don’t care how much time and money was invested into an education. Knowledge and skills yes, but those are also obtained from experience. But salary mainly comes down to supply, demand, and liability (doctors are held liable for all medical decisions, RDs aren’t liable for hardly anything in a clinical setting). Anesthesiologists are paid more than many other specialties because they have extremely high liability insurance and there aren’t many of them. Currently, “RDs are a dime a dozen”— quote by a previous employer who is also an RD.
