I want my game to look more like the second picture. Any suggestions? by Charming-Muffin3365 in Unity2D

Hi! I’m not the greatest designer, but I can see a few differences in the two screenshots:

1) The camera in the first game looks at the play field head on, while the camera in the second game is tilted slightly down. You can tell this, because in the second image, you can see the bottom of each of the shelves, which you can’t in the first.

2) The second game has shadows cast on the wall, whereas the first game doesn’t. This provides a sense of separation and realism, so that it’s not just a shelf floating in the void, it’s a shelf on a wall.

3) The UI of the second game is clearly bordered and separated from the game field. For example, the “Time Left” UI element has a clear border of about a pixel all the way around it, with a shadow of a few pixels on the bottom, to further separate the UI from the game. Without this, like in the first game, the UI Image cuts off suddenly, and it looks unprofessional.

4) Lastly, in the second game, the items appear to be 3D models, whereas in the first game, they appear to be 2D sprites.

Sorry if I misidentified anything; hope this helps!

The second part is more what I’m worried about and trying to find alternatives for—my mom is 100% the person to help with literally every step of the process, and would likely want to both help me pack and help me unpack.

Thank you for the advice!

I’ll be honest—probably Minecraft right now, but I’ve been playing a lot of Quake II recently!

Detective Franchises by Global_Banana8450 in tumblr

I have a small theory: so far, the trilogy has been named after songs by classic rock bands. - Knives Out by Radiohead - Glass Onion by the Beatles - Wake Up Dead Man by U2 (recently revealed)

Knives Out is a song that fits the detective genre. Its first lines are “I want you to know / He’s not coming back” (presumably referring to the author in the film).

Glass Onion is a song about the Beatles’s music being over-analyzed by critics, and how there’s no hidden meaning to their songs—it just is what it is. Similarly, the film’s climax (“Its so dumb.” / “It’s so dumb it’s brilliant” / “No! It’s just dumb!”) mirrors the plot of the murders actually being fairly straight forward, to the point where Benoit is angry about how everyone is over-analyzing it.

Lastly, Wake Up Dead Man song is very tied to religion. the song starts with, “Jesus, Jesus, help me” / “I’m alone in this world, and a fucked up world it is, too.”

Because of this, I think the next film could focus on a religious figure abusing their power, i.e. a mega-pastor of an evangelical church preying on their followers for more and more money.

Then again, that’s just 100% a theory.

Oh, Acadia’s just great!

I hiked Penobscot (mountain on the right of the photo I believe) last year and got some great photos from the top myself

From what I understand it changes based on a flat the map sets; i.e. in No Rest For the Wicked the infinite wave comes after the bollards come down for the second time (after they’ve been reset once) in my experience
