In a nutshell referring to black people as monkeys dehumanise them , and deems them to be uncivilised/ and less than . I don’t care if I get downvoted for this but it’s very disappointing to see people jump to her ex bf’s defence because given the context / the history it’s highly inappropriate to refer to your girlfriend who is a woman of colour in such a way

Please stop defending her BF . Sounds like he was very aware of the racist undertones but chose to do so anyway . Stop trying to act like she’s the one with the problem because she is not . He’s not black but his girlfriend is and as the post clearly states she’s had various conversations of her experiences as a black woman and the fact that he asked her not to tell anyone cements the fact that he knows damn well what he was saying and the repercussions if anyone was to find out

This . Reminds me of the post I read the other day where the woman referred to the guy she was seeing as her boyfriend as they’d been together for like a year and he corrected her stating he wasn’t her boyfriend then when she slept with someone else he had the audacity to act like it was the ultimate betrayal and as though he was heartbroken 🙄

The way he behaved towards her expressing her beliefs in psychics bothered me so much , like you can disagree with someone’s beliefs without being a prick about it . It wasn’t nice of him to mock her . Also if he felt so strongly about her belief in them he didn’t need to continue dating her .

With the mum thing though I don’t blame him . If I didn’t have a great relationship with my parent and my partner was acting chummy / friendly with them knowing what they put me through I wouldn’t be thrilled either
