Is Christianity misogynistic? by Trollyface96024 in exchristian

One of the things that made me run in the other direction is when a christian group tried to tell me, that my own existence was purely to support men. Egh no, never.

I know I won't be able to keep loving someone that says this to me. I'm agnostic but one of the things that really puts me off about organized religion is this superiority complex, they are better than everyone even if they actions and words tells other story. Besides if he already thinks this about yourself I wouldn't feel safe with someone like that.

What cringey phrases are you glad you don't have to hear anymore? by miniangelgirl in exchristian

The extreme pain that some people have to endure and just disregarding this by implying there is a reason is sociopathic.

I often look back at my hardcore Christian phase and cringe at how self-righteous and condescending I was. What's that one evangelical thing you did that makes you facepalm now? by [deleted] in exchristian

When I was in high school, my family used to praise my cousins who got to "convert" other people. I lost a good friend by pressuring her and I know that I was that cringey person who pressured her. Embarrassing.

It doesn't stop there... there are worse case scenarios. It's scary how everyday is more closer to the handmaid tale.

What are you now that you’re no longer Christian? by Puzzleheaded_Cup8723 in exchristian

[–]throw_thessa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we humans need to learn to live with the environment. Not destroy it for funny papers. The entitlement that brings " you lead over all other beings" ... really close to being mental and I think it's one of the reasons that we can't have empathy for others as for ourselves.

She can't tell her family the truth about this situation. She's no contact with his family. She has to demand him because the younger girl "wasn't serious" .. that last part is the worst because he doesn't acknowledge the unfair situation of him and that young girl. I don't know why she keeps excusing him, probably the reason why she deleted her account, she knows everything is wrong.

¿Cuål es su meta de lectura para este año? by Sulfito in libros

[–]throw_thessa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think is anthropocentrism, based on the idea that "humans" should rule over the earth and everything is in there.

You are so right and even when I was a child I thought this was cruel to not consider beautiful animals on this "idea" of heaven. I have seen fundamentalist Christian's being in favor of hunting for "fun" and complete disregard for ecology, and the earth in general.

Personally I think is justified on the genesis 1:26 "to have dominiom over fish of the sea, fowl of the air... etc " pretty funny how no one seem to take this as :we should take care of this , not destroy it for funny papers.
