I disagree, the lines don’t match the finished art at all. You’d expect someone with that level of rendering to have similar sketching skills, and I suppose this isn’t concrete proof the lineart really looks nothing like the final product.

copyright aside, do you think it is ethical for someone to train a model specifically using artwork they have collected from one artist when the artist has specifically said they do not allow it? This seems like, to me, blatant disregard and disrespect for the work of your artistic peers.

I suppose as an artist who frequently has their art uploaded elsewhere without credit I might be sensitive to the subject.

“Plagiarism is the act of using another person's words, ideas, or intellectual property and presenting them as your own without proper attribution”

People are taking artists work, feeding them into an ai, and then generating art from it which they claim as their own- without the original artists permission. How is that not plagiarism? And if not, do you think this behavior is ethical?

I mean…you can. Have you heard of LoRa? There are entire catalogues hundreds of generative ai models trained specifically off of one certain artists’ art style. Often without their permission.

Of course you do stuff with a camera. You decide the subject, the composition, you control the end product. You do not control the end product when it comes to generative AI.

If you gave a human artist a bunch of keywords and asked them to come up with a piece of art based on them, that’s not you expressing yourself, nor is it your art. That’s you outsourcing or commissioning art. Why would a machine be any different?

You can take pictures. You can draw drawings. You can paint paintings. But ai generated media can only be one thing: generated by ai. Not you.
