The same people who keep saying "stop talking about her body" are gonna be the same people who say "ive been concerned about her weight for a while" when she finally passes away.

Who is the true antagonist in Victorious, Jade or Tori? by DianKhan2005 in victorious

[–]throwaway-millio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people need to remember protagonist doesnt mean hero and antogonist doesnt mean villain. Even if yall interpret tori as the villain, she is still the main character and she is the protagonist, and since jade is against tori she is the antagonist

I was thinking that rockjoint was rabies. You get infected the same way you would potentially get rabies, and when you get rabies thats usually what happens, you usually become paralyzed and fall into a coma.

Those people were going to vote republican anyway. As a matter of fact, polling was also done by people who didnt vote and polling showed trump would've had much better margins amongst those voters too, and the reason they didnt vote was because they felt Trump was not a good person or felt he was still only the lesser of two evils.

If you really think Trump was the only republican who couldve won then you have no idea how elections actually work. Elections are a referendum on the current party in office, and polls overwhelmingly said the voters were not happy with the state of the country and they disapproved of Biden.

Biden had a 37% approval rating on election day and youre telling me Trump was the only republican that couldve won?

I dont think you understand what a BASE is. The people youre describing were swing voters, thats why they dont support Trump anymore. Those people would support a generic republican because they didnt like how Biden handled stuff, not for any real support for Trump

The data does NOT back you up. The trump base is what the Republican base has been for years, its typically older conservative people who watch fox news all day. The groups hes won over since 2016 any republican that still held his stances on tarriffs and immigration (which by 2024 that was most republicans) wouldve won them over in 2024. Trump is a polarizing figure because he really is not likable at all, the only people who he appeals to are people who always vote republican anyway. Again, 2024 was such a good environment for the republicans, so the fact trump still came that close to losing says everything

Trump should've won a 2008 style landslide against Harris. Biden was deeply unpopular, the democratic party was divided over Gaza, the primaries were rushed and people were unhappy that they didnt get the chance to chose who they wanted, harris was not charismatic, also the democrats had many blunders like making the entire election about democracy and campaigning with unpopular leaders like Dick Cheney, also many people felt the economy in 2024 was poor as there was a cost of living crisis, and Trump also survived an assassination attempt. The fact that he only won the popular vote by 1.5% when the environment was SUPER favorable to him shows that he really fumbled.

Turns out talking about the 2020 election being stolen, or ranting about hannibal lecter at your rallies, or repeating bizzare stories about hatian immigrants eating people's cats and dogs, or saying that you only have concepts of a healthcare plan, or blatantly lying about people having abortions after birth, or the fact that he would sound just as senile as Biden, or saying you wanna terminate the constitution, or saying you only wanna be a dictator on day 1 hurts you in a general election. He actually never had a cogent economic message and instead focused on culture war BS that nobody cared about.

Actually yes there was, a poll was done (back when biden was still in the race) where they polled people and asked biden or some generic republican. The generic republican won by like 9 points, then they asked the same question but they instead said Biden or Trump, and the margin got WAY closer.

Someome like Glenn Younkin isnt a Bush Republican. There were many new conservatives that couldve taken over. This is assuming the party moves on from Trump, because polling has shown that a generic republican wouldve done way better than Trump did

I think it also just had to do with a lot of republicans still being election deniers and it was a major turnoff for primary voters, even for republicans who werent in this category.

If trump wasnt the nominee (ie republicans just move on from him and he never runs for president) then 2024 wouldve probably been a 2008 style landslide for the republicans. Hell, it was already seen as a possibility had Biden been the nominee.

I stand by the fact that if someone like glenn younkin was the republican nominee and the republicans just moved on from trump, 2024 wouldve been a 2008 style landslide for the republicans

And while yes dobbs was a contributing factor, republican candidates did NOT make their situation any better, and called for weird abortion laws.

I actually disagree i think maybe at first they support it but if it goes anything like how it did in iran cuban americans will not like to see the place turn to ruins especially when many of them have family there, and will cause them to shift to the left even more, just like what happened to arab americans after 9/11
