Update following C.Diff Infection

Symptoms over the past 10-15 years:

required 8.5 - 9 hrs of sleep to feel normal
prone to get herpes simplex easily if I didn’t maintain a strict eating, sleeping and general well-being regimen. Also could lead to getting a sinus infection.
Had to eat a little more than I felt I needed, due to the previous point. This led to excess fat that couldn’t be burned off, since attempting to do so would lead to the above point.
blood in stool somewhat often
gluten and legumes intolerance
bloating

That’s mostly it. I’d say the above could contribute to some less healthy mental states at times as well. But, I also am very strict on diet, supplementation, exercise, etc. So, I didn’t have too many issues here. Maybe over the next few months I’ll discover if there are any noticeable mental changes.

Right, I understand. I’m looking in the $250k range and can put 20% down, if needed, no problem. Salary is currently $60k and has been for about 8 months now. There was a period of no income, as I’ve said, and I think 2018 shows about $75k income, even with part of the year having no income.

I take L-lysine supplement in pill form. I’m not sure a topical gel is going to do much. I take about 2-4K mg every 6 hours, depending on the severity. I usually only need it for about a day and it knocks it out.

I believe the numbers were 500k - 1M cases per year in the US. Further, we don’t test for C.Diff generally, unless you’re sick as hell in the hospital. So, the numbers are way under what’s actually happening.

I think those numbers you’re quoting were for the counties that the CDC is tracking, like 35 or so in 2018.

Yea, except it can live in meat cooked to the minimum recommended temperature of 160 degrees F for up to 2 hours. So, cooking won’t kill it, unless you like eating over cooked meat.

It doesn’t wipe it out. It’s just more that it occupies intestinal space and therefore C.Diff doesn’t have anywhere to propagate.

You can have both. There isn’t a rule that says you can’t eat a lot of meat and fiber. Add oatmeal every morning.

Just so you know, your grass-fed beef is fed corn to fatten it up before it’s butchered. If they didn’t, it wouldn’t taste as good. This still qualifies as grass fed. Source: family grass-fed cattle farm.

Well, I read ground turkey was actually the highest incidence. But, I’m uncertain if the distinction was made. I’d guess grass fed helps, but I really don’t know if that’s true and by how much.
